There is always room for improvement. Although as I said, the problem in this drawing would be the shading, which is too dark, a lighter shading would have been better, but without reaching the level of the second drawing. It should be a midpoint between the shading you did in both drawings.
Another thing I would add would be the color of the shirt, it is such a bright blue that it creates an exaggerated contrast with the shading of the face, which in my opinion looks ugly. It would be better to use a darker shade of blue for the shirt.
