Carlisle cursed colourfully to himself as he pushed through yet another patch of bracken, the tangle of plants and thorns managing to scratch him through his thick oiled leather and canvas clothing. He tripped slightly as his feet caught on a particularly dense patch of vegetation, grabbing at the trunk of a small tree to steady himself. He yanked his feet free of the spiked mass and stumbled forward, repeating the previous curse more loudly.
