Frederika Altrouge was the guard captain of the Cerulean Court, greatest swordmaster of her desert realm. She had met neither human nor beast that her flashing blade could not strike down and was rightfully proud of that fact. Her instincts and situational awareness had been honed across years of mortal battle and endless training, and so the fact that she had seemingly been ambushed in her sleep damaged the warrior's pride considerably.
 
She had awaken to find herself... nowhere. No ground, no sky, no walls, she was floating in an empty void. Up and down blended and lost all meaning. She considered calling out, but elected to stay silent for the moment to ensure that she not attract the attention of any threats. Her sword remained at her bedside and she did not trust the dagger hidden within her nightgown to handle an unknown magical threat of this magnitude.
 
However the silence was broken for her as she heard a soft cautious voice call out. "Hello?" The timid curiosity was somewhat reassuring, and Frederika couldn't hold back a sigh of relief as she looked towards the voice. "Yes, I'm here." She didn't want to get too forward or casual just yet. This could still be the one responsible after all.
 
To her surprise, an angel floated towards her, her winged frame seeming much more at home in this empty space. The sight of the angel also added a sense of up and down to the space, and so Frederika quickly spun to right herself. The kingdom which Frederika called home were on good terms with the angels and so she considered the woman a likely ally.
 
Of course the angel in question, Elray, was not from the same plane as Frederika, but with their limited knowledge of the multiverse neither was properly aware of this fact.
 
Breaking the ice after a moment's hesitaiton, the angel spoke first. "I'm so glad to find another person here. I woke up all alone in the dark, and it smells so bad here. I can hardly think straight. My name is Elray by the way."
 
Frederika had been born a stable hand and then a trainer for the Court's steeds. And so she was quite used to the various foul odors of animals. While she did detect an unusual quality to this place's scent, she had not registered it. Why hadn't she registered it? Frederika could pinpoint the unsheathing of a blade in a packed market. She could place the footsteps two halls over down to the individual floor tile. How did she not notice this smell?!
 
Something was very wrong.
 
But now that she was aware of the scent, it was getting worse, so much worse. It was almost akin to the stench of the foulest of the court's stallions, yet different as well, a very different diet at least. Probably an omnivore with a lot more fruit than vegetable or grain. But she realized she was being a bit rude. "I'm Captain Altrouge, but you can call me Frederika. So you woke in this place with no memory of how you got here as well?"
 
As she asked, Frederika covered her nose, the smell was getting so much worse now, as if becoming aware of it had removed the blinders and forced her into a glaring unyielding light. She had once been a guard on a caravan that was ambushed, and suffered heatstroke during her escape. She could not help but be reminded of the experience.
 
Her warping thoughts were interrupted as Elray spoke. "Yes, I was hoping you might know where we were. As an angel I'm a bit more intune with the order of the world around me, but this place is... wrong. It's like we're outside of, of everything. It's just nothing but... oh god no no no no!" She went from her shy speech to shouts of pure horror and disgust, tears building in her eyes. A moment later, Frederika knew why.
 
The smell hit like a sandstorm, no, like a ballista. An explosion of impossibly foul stench washed down over them, a reek beyond all sane imagination. The two women would have fallen to the ground if one existed. Instead they simply fell into a tailspin, whipping through the air as their eyes leaked crusty stink-ridden tears. As they choked and retched the pair struggled to find words, trying to keep their mouths closed until the fumes passed fully, but found their jaws locked, forced to breath through their eyes and nose alike.
 
It felt like an eternity before they finally regained movement, righting their movement and sitting up in space, gagging out the last of the fumes as Frederika spoke first. "W...What the hell was that?!" Elray choked a bit longer, her angelic senses far more sensitive. "I don't know. It smelled like when my little brother used to... no."
 
She shook her head and Frederika didn't press the subject. She had kept the horses. She knew what Elray was thinking. "We have to get out of here." Now that the cloud had passed, they had some idea of where out must be. If it came from one direct, they would probably want to go in the opposite. And so they did.
 
Like two fish lost in a lightless abyss they swam for some hope of escape. But there was still nothing around. No change in any direction, save the smell that just kept intensifying with every moment. And then, suddenly, Elray stopped. "Huh, I feel like..." and she was gone. Just a puff of white light and the angel had vanished. Frederika was alone. In the void she looked side to side. "Elray? Eldray? Say something!"
 
Frederika called out, but it was not the angel that answered. Instead she heard a cute pleasant chirping sound. Animal though not any sort she'd ever heard of. But the strangest part was she could understand it. It was a form of telepathy, but it seemed passive, a trait of the place rather than the creature perhaps. There were no words, but if she put the emotions into them, it would be close to "Flight is good, not much need for a duelist right now." Frederika didn't know what was really happening, but she understood that the voice had chosen Elray and had no need of her. Than why was she brought here?!
 
Frederika looked around, calling out to the voice. "Speak up! Well? You made yourself known and you brought me here. So at least have the gods damned dignity to tell me why!" She called out to the empty abyss, but no answer came. And then one did. But it wasn't the chirp, and it wasn't Elray. No. It was a slow rumbling grind. A crushing sound that shook the world itself, and as Frederika looked towards it, the smell hit again. It was not the gas from before. The fart from before. Both she and the angel didn't want to admit it, but both knew exactly what they were smelling. And this, this was something worse. As she looked on in a state of surreal terror, she saw it. She saw the shit, a glaciar, no, a country...world...plane... multiverse. There was no denying it. An entire multiverse of shit was advancing before her. It was more vast than her eyes or brain could concieve, her ears rang and her nose was leaking something she could not recognize as snot or blood. As if her senses were trying and failing to make sense of what she was seeing. As if she might fall into madness from the sheer dimensions of the turd before her! And that paled compared to the smell.
 
The miasma wafting off the turd tore at her nose and soul, Frederika felt like she had died before it even hit. And yet being crushed and engulfed within it still somehow managed to surpass her expectations. Her body was squeezed and ground on all sides, untold tons of shit pressing upon her, the moment before her death and the moment after blurred. Her consciousness stretched and warped with in it. She was crushed by the shit. She was part of the shit. She was the gas surrounding the shit that would be there for all others. All of this was true. None of it was true. She was locked in an eternal moment of conflicting realities, and all of them were Hell.
 
Elray appeared before Loot, the little Beast Noble looking up at her with a big cute grin. He chirped towards her, her mind recognizing it as roughly "Hey, take care of this guy, okay?" Elray saw a small bird creature floating ahead and flew up, giving it a single jab with her spear. It vanished in a flash of white light. It was no threat at all, even to a rather weak angel like her. She floated down as Loot smiled. That was why she had been summoned? Loot could easily have defeated such a weak monster by himself, was he just being lazy? She didn't understand what had happened, but she needed to find Frederika.
 
Looking down at Loot, Elray spoke pleasantly. "I'm happy to help you, but right now we need to find my friend, her name is Fre..." at which point Loot interrupted with a loud chirp. Shaking his hips before squatting down, and pressing out a gigantic turd. Elray shouted in shock and flew back instinctively, a very familiar and no less nose wrecking stench filling the air and burning her eyes as Loot sighed with relief, turning and looking back.
 
In that moment Elray knew what had happened to Frederika, and where the two women had been. Where this little creature kept those he summoned until he needed them... if he needed them. Elray's eyes widened in horror. "Frederika... oh no please, Frederika, you have to..." he mind was silenced as Loot activated another perk of his rights as her summoner. And as the little creature spread his fat buns, Elray pressed her tongue upon his filthy asshole. Elray was a weak angel and her paltry defense would not survive the act of tongue polishing Loot's lethal log cutter, but that was alright. She was just an impulse summon anyway.
