The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya is one of those animes that came out at the right place at the right time. If it didn’t pop up during the golden age of the internet, otaku culture would’ve started much later in the West and most likely wouldn’t look the same either.
Watching it nowadays is an odd experience since every anime archetype and plot point featured in the show is so common today that it can be seen as basic or played-out. On top of that, the main heroine is well… kind of a bitch. She takes advantage of her friends constantly, gets an attitude if she doesn’t get her way, never apologizes or acknowledges her wrongdoings, and sexually harasses Mikuru on the daily.
In the anime, she can get pretty annoying.
But in a vore scenario, she’s a top tier freakin’ pred like damn son what the fu-.

She definitely gets better over time, the original series may have gotten old but the movie is still one of the best anime movies ever made.

Haruhi as a pred just works too well, it’s a bit surprising that she doesn’t have more content with how long her series has been around haha

Indeed. Though I did see some new pics on pixiv a few weeks back. Maybe a revival is in the horizon?
