Though the blight was becoming less of a problem with magic at their disposal, the amazon race still faced a problem with keeping this power available. At the time, no one was experienced in the process of activation or knew that magic required constant stimulation from elfin volunteers. Thus, as their magic faded and the elfin sunk deeper into the depths of their bodies, the amazon mages realized they needed to keep replenishing. However, elfin by contrast were not keen on the idea of more and more of them being devoured and began to hide amongst the terrain to grow their numbers over time. As a response, amazon tribes appointed scouts from their ranks who would hunt for hiding elfin to bring back to the tribe for their meals. In turn, the amazon would continue to push back the blight until they needed to recharge again. This game of cat and mouse would continue for many years to come as both races ventured across the lands of Yotaia.
