Uh oh … seems Blossom’s gotten into quite a pickle … encountering the “quickbed” phenomenon is most common when laying down in one’s own bed after a long day. If you’re not quick yourself, you’ll be ensnared pretty quickly! So soft and fluffy and squishy, even if it seems you haven’t sunk deep into it, maneuvering enough to get out of it before you're fully entrapped and engulfed is challenging. Living in an apartment designed for someone much larger than herself only makes matters worse when you realize Blossom’s bed is greatly oversized …
Quickbeds are rare - only during periods of high environmental magic will your bed be transmuted into a quickbed on its own. Maybe a passing magic field happens to pass by. 9 times out of 10 nothing happens, but enough magic in one spot can sometimes cause it to “snare” and build up, and pool inside an object, causing all sorts of effects. Over time, after environmental magic levels go down, the unrooted magic will leach out of the bed and dissipate. Slowly rendering the bed more and more normal. What happens next? Maybe the unmagic matter of the bed slowly smothers and crushes the victim, or maybe the victim is slowly and safely shoved up and out, as the bed solidifies. Only time will tell for Blossom.
