Starfox Adventures is a game that seems to inspire a lot of semi-justified anger, but that anger turns to pity the more you learn about it. It's a rare case of a game that has been through THREE different kinds of development hell and survived - a slow burn of a game that was originally intended to release on the fucking N64, a game that had to be basically rebuilt from an original IP to a Starfox spinoff on the flimsy pretext that both starred foxes, and finally a FAST burn development to frantically get the game out the door before Microsoft's deal to purchase Rareware outright was finalized. For all its flaws, frankly it was a miracle it managed to release in this state at all. Given its circumstances, it could have been so, so much worse, and honestly, as far as dev hell games go I'd rather play it over Duke Nukem Forever.
Of course, we all know why you clicked on this one - for the furry icon Krystal that spawned from it, of course. As thanks for saving Dinosaur Planet, Krystal invites Fox to stay as one of their own, and doesn't take no for an answer. Regressed within Krystal's stomach, Fox reemerges as little more than a cub for the possessive native, starting a brand new life almost completely from scratch - although he doesn't look terribly amused about being forced into it.
