Aeshekah… one of the empire’s most southwestern mainland provinces. Some of it is quite attractive. The coastal port cities, in fact, are renowned for their pristine beaches and cerulean waters, and their harbors do a roaring business trading silk and spices. Most of it, however… most of it is marked by a very different kind of sand. Tall, sweeping dunes that constantly change shape as they are blown about. Oftentimes, there is nothing between any of the cities, towns and villages in the desert interior for miles. Nothing but the occasional oasis or abandoned structure. A long and perilous journey if you haven’t packed the proper supplies.
 
 
Jefanh whined, empty belly growling pitifully as he stared at the campfire. “Shurin above, I wish I had something to cook…” he bemoaned, rubbing his trim tummy with his dainty paw. He’d used up the last of his food rations yesterday, and he hadn’t begun to truly feel the effects until today. He moaned, standing up and planting his hands on his hips, looking around from atop the golden dune he was camped on top of as the sun was sinking down below the horizon, sky transforming into a blue-to-orange ombré.
 
 
Jefanh was a black cat nomad, and quite a handsome one at that. However, most of the time it was hard to tell what he looked like, since so much of his body had to be covered up to endure the hot, sandy climate. Upon his torso was draped a tight-fitting blue tunic, crafted from light fabric and fastened with a tied red silk band serving as a belt. His legs were covered by tan leather pants that were snug around his curvy rump and hips, a small dagger stuck in his belt and some thick, low-cut brown boots protecting his delicate footpaws. His head had some of the thickest coverings, only his pointy ears and dazzling green eyes left uncovered by the rose red keffiyeh and litham combo. Even his hands were covered up by fingerless brown leather gloves. The only piece of him that was mostly visible in this state was his tail, with a little scrap of white fabric tied around the tip: a symbol of devotion for his deity.
 
 
As he gazed at the golden expanse, something caught his eye… a seemingly half-submerged arch and rock at the base of one of the dunes… curious, he abandoned his campsite, sliding down the slope to investigate. “Oooohh… could it be?” Jefanh asked, getting a much closer look at the tall sandstone rock… wait, hold on… the way it was carved… it wasn’t a rock, it was a statue! The feline observed it, rubbing a paw upon it… it was half-buried and slightly tilted, but it was obvious what it was supposed to be now. It was a statue of a strong, muscular anthro scarab… Kalmah, the ancient Aeshekahan god of death and the underworld. So that meant that the arch must lead to a tomb! Jefanh laughed giddily, his imagination springing to life as dozens of colorful possibilities bounced around his brain. Who knew what wonders awaited him… riches, almost certainly… well, assuming no one had robbed the tomb first. But maybe there was more. He remembered learning in school that the nobility of ancient times mummified their dead, wrapping them in fine linen and storing them in well-decorated sarcophagi, surrounded by elaborate displays of wealth and prestige within sealed chambers. Perhaps he’d find noble remains in there! Maybe he’d even find a pharaoh!
 
 
“Ok… here I go…” Jefanh mumbled to himself as he slipped his body through the gap between the top of the arch and the sand it was sunken in, quickly finding himself sliding down a slope and into a chamber, the floor about… 9 feet below the ground level above. “The wind must’ve blown all of the sand into here.” The kitty mused as he started to look around. His only light was from the waning sunlight seeping in through the entrance, but from what he could make it, it seemed to be a royal tomb. Golden statues of anthro hyena guards flanking both sides of him, walls covered in paintings of scenes of palace life and various feral beasts… Jefanh was lucky. This seemed like a pharaoh’s tomb! The impromptu tomb raider was giddy as he stepped further down the hallway, making sure to keep the litham held tightly over his muzzle so as to not inhale any millenia-old dust. He wondered which pharaoh was resting in here… perhaps it was the great scholarly king Bofhari? Or the warrior queen Suri? Or even the old and wise Raupameni?…
 
 
Only one obstacle stood between Jefanh and a great treasure trove. A set of shut doors that took up the entire width and height of the chamber. And holding those doors shut was a knotted rope seal. Evidently, whoever had constructed the tomb intended for any visitors, wanted or unwanted, to have to figure out how to untie the knot… buuuuut the traveler could afford to skip that step. He bore a toothy grin as he removed his dagger from its sheath.

As soon as the seal was broken, the doors rumbled loudly, the vibrations shaking dust and sand from the ceiling. For a moment, the black cat panicked, thinking the whole tomb might collapse! But alas, that did not happen, as instead, the seemingly automated doors retracted into the walls, allowing Jefanh to feast his eyes upon the untouched inner chamber.
 
 
…It was incredible. Magnificent beyond his wildest dreams.
 
 
The whole room, smaller than the hallway he’d just come through, was illuminated by the ghostly glow of magic-fueled green torch flames upon the walls. The scene before him was cluttered with treasure, and a few suspiciously long-lived potted papyrus plants. An exquisite model of a boat. Various golden idols of gods. A shining ceremonial throne. A box which must’ve contained the removed organs. And right in the center of the room lay the centerpiece: the sarcophagus. The black cat studied it carefully as he made his tiptoeing approach inside, applying the historical knowledge he had been taught in his younger years… it was shaped like a Jackal, so it was certainly from sometime between the Hunthoris and Tomap Dynasties, when jackal families held the royal throne. It was an exquisite sarcophagus, plated in brilliant yellow gold with various gemstones and glasses accentuating the finer features. Lapis Lazuli, quartz, carnelian, obsidian, jade, turquoise… even a chunk of the artifact would be worth thousands of suns. But that wasn’t good enough for Jefanh…what was inside?
 
 
“Well, here goes…” he mumbled to himself, prying the heavy lid from the sarcophagus… finding, what else, a mummy inside. It was wrapped in fine linen, slightly yellowed by age, even in the airtight environment of the coffin. It was made from the corpse of an adult female jackal, wrappings snug around her curvy hips, fat breasts and well-sculpted face… whoever was in charge of preservation was REALLY good at keeping the body’s shape, Jefanh thought. Around her neck was a scarab necklace made from gold, turquoise, jade and colored glass. On her crossed wrists were golden cuffs with shimmering ovals of obsidian in the center, same going for the ankles. “Whoa… must be a well-loved queen!” Jefanh remarked, looking her over as his tail swished. peering into the coffin, he caught a whiff of something… delicious? Was that rosemary? And thyme? Oh of course… it was the spices her organs had been replaced with… still smelled delicious for a mummified corpse though. His stomach growled… perhaps he could nab a piece of this mummy to barbecue when he was finished clearing the place out…
 
 
While the raider tried to figure out a way to remove that exquisite necklace from her neck, he accidentally caught her eyes… they were strangely uncovered by the linen wraps, only a diagonal strip dividing the two of them, forming a sort of clear visor for the jackal and her… glowing golden eyes?
 
 
“G-GAHH!!”
 
 
The shocked gasp and subsequent drop onto a plump ass fully awakened the jackal pharaoh… she moaned, voice raspy and vision blurry after such a long slumber. She sat up and put a paw to her forehead, wincing… why had she slept in for so long? Oh right, she died… malaria will do that to a lady. Her eyesight cleared up, and she now realized she was in a tomb… HER tomb, full of her vast treasures… wait, who was that sitting on the floor below her? Was that a tomb raider? And a cat!? She hopped out of the coffin, raising her voice. “I am Queen Nahrari of the Almun Dynasty, Ruler of the People, Voice of the Gods, Daughter of the Sun and Moon, Guardian of the Khemer, and Pharaoh of all of Aeshekah!! Who DARES interrupt my 1,000 year slumber!!”
 
 
“P-Please, miss, I meant no harm! I-I… I…” Jefanh’s pleading and crawling away came to a quick stop as he watched the mummified queen in action… Nahrari, huh? Quite an important ancient leader, if the kitty remembered correctly… and she smelled and looked WONDERFUL. Her figure, despite death, was more than plump and meaty enough to feed him for a week or more, and her scent was rich and delicious, fueled by embalming spices and oils. Jefanh’s stomach practically roared for her as he got to his trembling feet, thinking of how GOOOOOD she would feel inside of his belly… he coyly picked up a gilded scepter from behind him…
 
 
“Wha-? How dare you not kneel for me, you insolent feline! I am a Pharaoh, and I demand I am shown the proper respe-”

“Aaauuuuuuggghhh… my head…”
 
 
Nahrari’s cranium was pounding, a searing pain across the top of her head as she awakened. She felt oddly naked, tons of her well-preserved black fur on full display… where were her wrappings? A lot of them were missing, along with the jewelry she had been laid to rest with. However, she could fortunately still feel a few lengths of linen on her. She still had her full-head mask of wrappings, there was still linen tying her hands and feet to the pole, and she had a few loops still around her thighs, forearms and middle! Although, there was one small problem… regarding that pole…
 
 
“HUH!? What is the meaning of this!?!?”
 
 
The jackal realized she was tied to a pole against her back, suspended above a very small pyre of wood and stones by a mount devised from two other vertical sticks stuck in the sand. “Nnnnhhh!! Vile, perverted thief! Kidnapper!! Let me go!!” The queen screeched, slightly muffled, voice rumbling with rage and indignity. She happened to point her head upwards, looking in front of her, below her extended and bound arms… and she saw HIM. An emerald-eyed black cat with wide hips in some sort of strange desert garb, albeit with one major difference: the litham had slipped down from his muzzle, revealing, for the first time, the cheerful grin he carried. He had good reason for it, too: Behind him was her golden coffin, stuffed with gold and jewels looted from her royal tomb. “Ugh, you heathen! That is the property of the Pharaoh!!”
 
 
“Really? I’m not sure you’re going to be needing it anymore, Nahrari…” the cat cheekily replied, a magic green torch he’d swiped held behind his back. The petulant jackal continued to writhe around on the pole, body shaking and jiggling, upset at being treated like this. “Nnngg… hnnfff!! Come on, you wretched-”
 
 
FWOOOSH!
 
 
Nahrari’s golden eyes widened as she turned her head back down, finding that Jefanh had pressed the lit torch to the wood beneath her. With an intense, searing flow, orange flame shot upwards, the meager pyre becoming a steadily-burning campfire. The jackal queen’s confidence started to falter as the fire grew hungry for her voluptuous black figure, looking to get a good sting at her. She wasn’t bothered by the wood smoke pouring into her nostrils… her lack of any lungs meant she could not suffocate via unclean air alone. She was far more concerned about the heat. Nahrari’s resin-soaked bandages were fairly fire-resistant, but her mummified corpse-body? Almost certainly not.
 
 
With slow, careful hands, Jefanh turned the spit, causing the jackal to face skywards towards the emerging stars. It also gave Jefanh a good view of his dinner’s body… one odd little thing he hadn’t noticed, probably because it was covered up, was her small, dainty little navel piercing. It was a little gold barbell, the top end a golden bead and the bottom end a turquoise triangle with little golden jackal and eye symbols carved upon it. “Hmm, what’s this?” he curiously asked as he walked around to her middle, poking at the delicate bit of regalia. The lady pharoah instantly started to huff and puff. “That is a symbol of my dynasty, THOUSANDS of cubits above the likes of you!!” Jefanh merely chuckled, the noise stinging Nahrari’s ears. “Well, it won’t do you much good now, will it? Not when I’m roasting you up like this.” His words were cruel, but he didn’t seem to realize it, instead just ogling her with glossy eyes, like a chameleon looking at a fat fly.
 
 
“Hmm… asides from the rosemary and thyme stuffed in your internal cavity, the mummification salt and oil rubbed into your skin have left you soft and juicy…” he casually and happily observed, rubbing a hand along her furry side. Then, without warning, his paws moved to her large breasts, gripping them like huge sacks of flour, making her grunt in shock and anger as she clenched her jaw. “Ooooh, and these boobs aren’t half-bad either… nice and plump. you’ll keep me fed abooout… well, all the way to Lematen, actually! That works out well in my favor!” After another rough squeeze, he released his hands, ignoring her writhing as he walked away, beaming and licking his lips. He returned to his original position, and started to turn the spit…
 
 
The royal canine started to spin, her field of vision flicking between the heavens and the stinging flames as she was slowly turned into a rotisserie treat. Her soft flesh stung as it was greedily swept at by hot flames. Before long, she was starting to grow… well, not “sweaty”, more greasy. What meager juices remained after her mummification process and extended underground stay, plus plenty that had come from the cooking oil and spice, leaked from her skin, dripping down her beautiful body, falling from her stomach and breasts in droplets and fueling the blaze when they hit the campfire. The whole time, she was helplessly writhing in her restrained state, trying to deflect the intense heat from herself, yelling out curses and demands from beneath her mask of cloth. “Nnn… bastard cat!! This is why my-mnn-family BANISHED your sorry hides from Aeshekah!!! Set me down from here at once, you-gggah-foul, worthless waste of flesh!!!”
 
 
“I cooould, but then you’d fall in the fire, silly! I don’t want you burned up this early into your prep time!”
 
 
“...Q-QUIET!! DISGUSTING FURBALL!!!”
 
 
Jefanh swished his tail and rolled his eyes as Nahrari threw another barrage of insults at his face. He decided that if the jackal queen was going to be so mean to him, then she wasn’t worth the conversation. Instead, he kept his eyes on the prize, the soft, tasty, meaty prize. Just the STENCH of all that aged meat cooking up was making his stomach growl like a lion and bubble like a stewpot.
 
 
As the hours passed by, the pharaoh came to the shocking and unexpected conclusion that she was kind of screwed. This… feline, whoever he was… was kind of good at handling her for meat. His careful approach meant she was roasting evenly on all sides. Slowly, she started to crack as her body was rocked with dull, fiery pain. Her short fur was seared off in a wave of deliciously-scented steam, and her decrepit black skin turned from a charcoal shade to a more greasy molasses-esque black, and just as shimmering and appetizing. Before long, she was aaaaaaalllllll done.
 
 
“Aaah, looks like you’re fully roasted! Let’s get you off of that fire before you start to char…”
 
 
Jefanh hummed a gleeful tune to himself as his soon-to-be-meal was taken off of the fire and cut from the pole by his sharp dagger. The humbled jackal groaned… her whole body ached as steam wafted from her every pore and orifice, her bare skin felt slightly crispy and burned with pain whenever she tried to move, she could barely muster up the energy to fight back in her soul. “Unnnngggghhh… this isn’t over… you haven’t… you WON’T humiliate the pharaoh like this!” The black cat boyishly giggled as he looked over his roast dinner, visibly drooling. “Wooooow… I think I cooked you PERFECTLY! You’re just as good as any kebab!” He eagerly remarked as he wiped his mouth and sat next to her, looking as excited as a hawk with a freshly-caught pigeon. “Fool…” she growled angrily. “I will find some way to make you pay for this… FOUL FELINE!!”
 
 
“Hey, I was going to eat you up anyway, but there’s no need to insult me to my face, Nahrari! Oh well…”
 
 
The confused canine watched in horror as the cat picked her up, opening up his maw to reveal his black hole of a throat, barely getting out a squeak before…
 
 
NOMFFF!!!
 
 
Jefanh shut his eyes, moaning in bliss at the delightful, porky taste of jackal meat that had been aged for 1,000 years. He swiftly gulped down the queen, who by now was far too tired and weak to effectively fight back, meaning the process was essentially just like sucking down a huge, woman-shaped noodle. Her huge, soft breasts provided a bit of an obstacle, sure, but that problem was easily solved by grabbing her ass and shoving her in. The soft, pillowy breasts had some of the best mouthfeel that the feline had ever experienced, and he wished could chew on them forever… but he had a mummy to eat, so…

The lady slowly snaked into his mouth, her tasty black body failing to resist… belly went in, tongue flicking at her pierced belly button as he purred, then wide child-bearing hips, then plump thighs and toned calves, and finally her bare footpaws, which had only just started to wriggle. Jefanh tilted his head back and pushed the feet in with his finger, then strained as he squished them down, finally swallowing the mummy whole. “Aaaaahaaaahh… thank you, Shurin, for this wonderful meal…”
 
 
The greedy kitty smacked his hands on his full stomach, feeling like a stuffed pig. His black belly stuck out like a sore thumb from his tunic and robe, his silk belt barely able to keep from snapping. Hopefully it held up through the digestive process, or he would need to walk to Lematen with his dick and balls hanging out. Sitting on his furry rump, he admired his large, woman-shaped stomach, every little curve and crease of the full-figured ancient beauty filling out the taut flesh nicely. “Mroww…” he purred. “Such a fine royal fea-uuuUURRRRAAAAAPPPP!!!!” Jefanh’s mouth shot open and his cheeks rippled as hot, embalming-oil scented air poured out from his gullet. “Oof, excuse me.” He remarked, putting a paw to his muzzle as he stifled another, smaller burp.
 
 
“Mmfffff… mrrrggg!!! Nnnnfff!!!”
 
 
Nahrari couldn’t squirm and awful lot, but she COULD still voice her displeasure. And voice her displeasure she sure did. “Grrrraaammmfff!!!! Mnnngggrrffff!!!” she screeched, voice muffled and indecipherable from beneath her mask of linen and prison of cat gut. She was starting to FULLY understand why her dynasty would have little to do with cats. Acid stung at her decrepit form, bubbling and brewing around her while strong muscles tried to mash her into paste… “Mmmrrrraaaaaammfff!!!!” the Jackal screamed. Over time, as she became softer and softer, cracking under the pressure, she had to wonder… her soul, which had survived death, mummification and 1,000 dormant years… surely it could last through this, but where would it go? Would it rise and go somewhere else? Would it finally descend to the afterlife? Would it somehow get absorbed by this abhorrent, meowing creature’s own soul? Or what if… what if it somehow remained intact, but… got stuck inside of his body?
 
 
BRRRUUUUUUUPPP!!!
 
 
After a few hours, a now-drowsy Jefanh was pleased to discover that the pharaoh had finally gone down a bit, shrinking in size slightly and becoming all soft and slightly squishy, like bread dough. He smacked his lips and patted his belly a few times, once again thanking his deity for providing for him. Then, with a loud yawn, he picked himself up. Awkwardly, he waddled into his tent, dragging his sloshing furry stomach beneath him, leaving a trail in the sand. Before long, he had pushed himself inside of the tent flaps, rag-tied tail the last to slink in as he blew out his lamp, preparing to sleep off his meal somewhat before his journey continued. A few minutes later a huge UUUURRRRRRRRPPPPPPP!!!! Shook the desert, causing the dunes to shed a few thin layers of sand. Out of the tent flap flew a turquoise and gold navel piercing, dropping into the campfire, where it would soon melt away into something unrecognizable.
 
 
Just like the pharaoh it had previously adorned…

Jefanh sauntered into the offices of the Provincial Ministry of Culture and Heritage, dragging a heavy golden jackal sarcophagus behind him, grunting with displeasure. The black cat had changed recently. His belly was now fat and round, his thighs and rump thick and juicy, his whiskered cheeks soft and rosy. His nomadic clothes were also not fitting quite so well anymore… but that was no worry to him. After he closed this deal, he could buy whatever clothes he liked. Maybe he’d even have enough suns left to grab a few slices of basbousa… somehow, not even an entire mummy was enough to keep the ravenous feline and his gaping cavern of a gut filled.
 
 
With a bit more heaving, he finally reached the front desk, much to the bewildered amusement of the fez-donning borzoi man behind it. After he set the coffin down lengthwise, Jefanh took a moment to catch his breath, then grinned and spoke up. “Hello, my good sir, fellow disciple of Shurin, I would like to register an artifact in exchange for suns.” The borzoi grabbed a form from one of his drawers, then started asking questions. “Alright… so what is that you’ve got there?”
 
 
“Oh, this? These are some things I found in a tomb I uncovered out in the desert… there’s more left inside, this is just what I was able to carry with me, eheh.”
 
 
“Hmmm… the sarcophagus seems intact. Hunthoris dynasty, I assume?”
 
 
“Actually, I think it might be-urrp!” Jefanh moved a pudgy paw to cover his mouth, still able to taste those exquisite spices even days later. “Excuuuuuse me… I think it might be Tomap.” The borzoi nodded, then motioned for the cat to open up the coffin, which he gleefully did. The dog’s blue eyes widened, amazed at what he saw… the golden jackal was stuffed to the gills with jars, jewels, statues and even a model boat… and this feline said there was more still left in the tomb he got it from? He might want to tell the higher ups about this. Still, one more question remained… “Very nice… um, you wouldn’t have happened to have found a mummy in the tomb, would you?”
 
 
GWWWWWRRRRRBBBLLL
 
 
A soft, angry noise rumbled in Jefanh’s stomach… the spirit of Nahrari was still alive within him, and she was unhappy. Unhappy at being bested, roasted and EATEN by some miserable cat, upset at being entrapped in his soft paunch, and upset at having her royal belongings be sold off like this. She swore, once she found a way to free herself of this prison of fat, she would take her revenge upon this stupid, dimwitted beast…
 
 
But for now, the cheeky cat easily tuned out her subconscious whining.
 
 
“Maybe there was at some time in the past, but, y’know. Grave robbers got to them long before I could.”
