It’s a cold and dark evening in the coastal city of Kjarisk. The clouds are hiding the moon, the inhabitants relying on the street lights to find their way, hopefully away from the hunting grounds of the various predators roaming around at this time. Typically, ten in the evening is when the law allows them to go hunting in public – everyone’s aware of this, and they typically travel in groups to avoid being caught. But there’s one little crow dude that’s not really paying attention to the rules, apparently…
Bryce is walking home from a nice afternoon spent at the military surplus store, to keep the store owner, Magnus, company. The man had many stories to tell about the war that took place on the island – the one that extinguished the human race – and it was very captivating to hear from someone that was there… And was more open to chat than Twelve, for example. Without Bryce even realizing it, time flew and it was getting close to midnight now. Magnus offered him to spend the night with him, as his house is at the first floor of the store, but the white crow didn’t feel like intruding and politely declined the offer. Being so new in town, however, he doesn’t exactly realize what he’s getting into by trying to take shortcuts through the dark alleys like he did back in Capital to avoid being seen.
Another newcomer not really paying attention to the rules is following him silently… The black goopy bat Exedys. She’s been warned before than any predation happening in town requires a permit… She would normally follow the rules, but Twelve worded in such a way that she sees Bryce as suitable target – she needs a permit to go after citizens and tourists – and Bryce, being a refugee, is neither of these things. She feels a little strange knowing that she was bending the rules harder than her own tail when wrapping up a prey, but she was just famished. The town’s witch, Sasha, had fed her mana potions prior, and while it made sure she wouldn’t evaporate out of hunger, she still wanted something squirming inside of her to feel plenty satisfied, and so the crow would do.
Bryce casually makes his way back, using his above average vision in the dark to find his way through small points of interest he passed by before… Exedys has been tailing him like his literal shadow for fifteen minutes now, and he hasn’t caught on even once. How can you be so oblivious? She wonders… But it’s not really the crows’s fault she’s entirely silent, despite her size. Still, she’s hungry… She can’t resist that delicious little piece of poultry anymore. Her long, thick tail swishes left to right in anticipation, before the tip stretches wide open, like a suction cup. Bryce barely has enough time to look up before Exedys, laying down on all fours to make it simpler for her, engulfs the entire top half of the crow with her tail in a single swift motion. It’s just that simple!
She kneels down, observing the crow disappearing down her tail to form a large bulge in its midsection. He’s probably panicking and screaming in there, but no sounds can be heard, drowned in the black substance. She’ll make sure he knows it’s her a little later… For now, she’ll enjoy her catch. The crow’s descent stops as she’d rather not absorb him too quickly, instead hugging the bulge gently. Her tongue starts licking it, and grows longer by the second to wrap around it. Bryce freezes, unsure as to what’s happening, but… He’s not getting hurt, right? Maybe it’s his own way to cope with the situation, maybe it’s Exedys’ draining his fears to calm him down. Whatever the case, they stay like that for a good few minutes, silently enjoying the situation in their own way.
Eventually, though, Exedys’ hunger takes over. The crow won’t do her much good here… She needs him inside of her bottomless abyss of a stomach… Or whatever cavity she has that passes for one, anyway. She watches as his bulge slides deeper. The talons, that has been poking out of her tail’s like her prey might have the slightest chance to escape, get swallowed just like everything else. Soon, his head reaches her torso, and the bulge disappears entirely, absorbed. His legs struggle weekly not to suffer a similar fate, but all it does is arouse the predator, who reels her lengthy tongue back in to play with her chest a little bit. It’d been so long since she’s done this, it’s almost intoxicating… The last remnants of the crow’s bulge disappear as she closes her eyes to feel every last bit of him vanishing inside of her innards. She sighs, her deed done. He tasted good… She wants more, but she knows he’s gone – for now, anyway. Fortunately, despite being a metaphorical black hole, she’s more than releasing her victims unharmed. In any case, releasing him now just to swallow him again would just aggravate him, she thinks. He probably doesn’t know it was her, and it’s better if it stayed this way. Instead, she simply grabs her tail and takes one final taste of Bryce by sensually licking the tip where his entire body passed through.
When she’s certain she’s done all she could to enjoy her meal, she stretches and yawns, looking around – nobody saw her. Good. Nobody’s ever know what she did tonight, and that was for the better, even if she technically didn’t read the rules. So, she simply finds herself a nice perch in the form of the underside of balcony, where she goes to hand upside down. She can’t help by smile at the sweetness of the crow’s current dream… She decides not to intrude on said dream, allowing Bryce to enjoy his time stuck down her bottomless innards in peace. Maybe she should start making friends as well? He seems to have made quite the memories with Aaron and Selene… Even Galycia, despite being a scary snake witch, seems to have earned a place in the crow’s close circle. She sighs. Back during the medieval era, Exedys’ species has never needed friends or social interactions… But before her, there’s never been a Blackwater Nightmare smart enough to even understand what friendship meant, either. She tries to shake off that strange feeling - the ball growing in her throat - but it only gets bigger.
