The duck laughed as he reached under the doormat and grabbed the spare house key, using it to let himself into the house. It was a nice home… the walls were painted a warm shade of cream, the floors were neatly polished brown hardwood, and the walls were lined with family photos and cute pieces of art. Not too far from the couple were Mr. and Mrs. Hsu, both looking… not upset or angry, but quite surprised. For you see, there’s something about Keanu’s boyfriend that hasn’t been disclosed yet. The duck breathed a sigh of relief once he saw Jackson and his mom and dad comfortably mingling. He’d worried that they might react negatively to learning he was going out with a massive tiger, even wondering if he should lie and say Jackson was another duck to soften the blow. But thankfully, they appeared to be pretty open minded about this, and he couldn’t detect much unease beneath their smiling bills. “Why don’t you come sit down and have dinner?” The father offered. “Margaret made lasagna.”

Before long, all four of them were sitting around the Hsu family dinner table, enjoying the dish of ragù, pasta and cheese, Jackson having two slices on his plate to account for his somewhat larger appetite. “Mom…” Keanu’s face turned a bit red, embarrassed. Mrs. Hsu just stifled a laugh and scooped up another bite of lasagna with her fork.
 
 
“Uh, Jackson…” Mr. Hsu addressed the cat. “What did you say you were majoring in?” Jackson was busy stuffing his face, but he was more than happy to answer the question. “I was a bit uncertain what to pick at first, but eventually I decided to go for a biology major?”
