Here’s this months entry to Fatedmeal’s short story contests on discord, having the theme ‘winter’ and also requiring multiple endings. Got third place with this one, a far cry from my sweeping victory of the previous month’s, but still pretty good don’t get me wrong.

Definitely want to do something a lot longer with the prospect of multiple endings sometime where I can develop them a lot more than I could with a strict word limit. I don’t need to tell you they have a lot of potential for interesting stuff. The dramatic irony and the MC’s hypocrisy, acting like she never even considered making the selfish choice, is why they can be so fun. Though, writing in present tense is absolutely horrible I hate it. It was necessary for the vibe I was going for with having the events actively being altered, but it’s so uncomfortable to write. It’s like the literary equivalent of having your balls crushed with a rock (if you’re not into that). Never again
