After writing about her a few times, I’ve decided to flesh Uvata’s character out and properly introduce her. For that purpose, I’ve also retrofitted my random goddess from the first Month of the Monsters to be her design… which was always the design I envisioned her with, actually.
Within her own realm, Uvata is believed to be the Supreme Being and sole creator of reality. However, there is more to her story than that. In truth, she is but one of a race of celestial deities known as the Architects, tasked with reshaping the fabric of destroyed universes and timelines into new, self-contained ones. These recycled dimensions, not connected to the original time-space continuum, are known as “polyverses.” They encompass multiple universes, but their timelines do not divide like others in the collective omniverse.
Within their own polyverse, an Architect is virtually omnipotent, and Uvata is no exception. Compared to her kin, she is much more sentimental, truly loving the worlds and people she breathes life into. While she prefers to let mortals lead their own lives and forge their own destinies, Uvata will answer the prayers of her people if she feels that they truly need her.
Despite her gentle and motherly demeanor, Uvata secretly loves to swallow people whole. She feels embarrassed when people catch her in the act, though, so she only indulges her fetish in private. Her followers often sacrifice people to her, but unbeknownst to them, Uvata reforms her offerings after she is done digesting them, giving them a second chance at life in another world in her polyverse.
If you’ve read the various stories Uvata has featured in, you might have noticed a discrepancy in her size. Well, that’s intentional. She’s normally over 40 feet tall, but when she interacts with mortals, she prefers to shrink down to roughly 8’4”. Even at that size, though, a few “offerings” will leave quite the bulge in her belly.
