Beware when travelling the marshes and wetlands of the southern hemisphere. There are tales of giant amazonian races isolated since the earliest points of recorded history. These creatures know little about civilization, about democracy or higher learning. They care not for politics or expansion. All they know is the sweltering heat of their own environment, the safety of their stick and twill tents, the sorority of their fellow tribe mates and the hostility of strangers to their land.
Tales and lost journals have rumored them to grow upwards of 10 feet or better for some of the tallest members of the tribes. They are said to be fierce and warlike, and despite their love of higher learning they are told to have sophisticated levels of communication. Their scraps of clothing are made of up the tanned hides of animals captured and their weapons crafted by chipped stones of flint and shale. They have become adept at moving through jungle terrain and soft, muddy surfaces. Their ability to swim is surpassed by few, it is said. And perhaps most unsettling of all, they use all these hunter-like advantages to capture and inevitably devour strangers to their land. While they are not explicitly raised to swallow their food whole, given the lack of entertainment and the somewhat cocky attitude exchanged between members of the tribe, hunters often display their strength and prowess by eating meals whole and alive to where they're still wriggling even when settled in their stomach.
