One of the more obscure myths in the Nordic states is that of the Dragon Maiden. Most of you probably know of the stories of princesses getting kidnapped by dragons and such, but what happens to the ones who don't get rescued?
Well, yes. They get eaten, but that's only half the story.
As the story goes, many of them become Dragon Maidens. That is, they have their souls permanently bonded to that of the dragon, and they'd develop a symbiotic relationship of sorts from there. The dragon grants the maiden its power, and access to the humongous treasuries that dragons are known to have. The maidens use their charm to lure naive and unsuspecting knights to their death in the belly of the dragon.
Anyways, this is a pretty obscure myth. Most historians nowadays agree that dragon maidens didn't actually exist, and this was just another one of those stories made up by Middle Ages folks to demonize and subjugate women, much like the ones about witches and stuff. Take it as you will though.
TL; DR: Somiad drew a dragon.

This looks very nice, especially as I can't recall you ever drawing dragons before, as in, this probably is your first serious (or successfull) attempt at one? ^^
I've read about that story in a book containing various myths.
Some dragons even had more than one maiden, to take care of the "housework" in their lairs, so to speak, and after all... it's probably not the worst thing one could do.
I mean, riches, protection, safety, power... and usually the freedom to leave if they really want to.
Considering the time at which these stories tend to take place, there's really worse fates than becoming a servant to a dragon I'd say.

I've actually heard that legend before, but I never really understood the vorish aspects of it back then. Seein' this, though, definitely clarifies it.
