I love the sheer scope of this. Reminds me of the best parts of the StarCraft/StarCraft II story, or the Ender/Bean books. Epic scifi in the best tradition.

Also I think an echo of D&D's Illithid/Mind Flayers, and further back, Lovecraft. :D

It's most directly based on the Lensman series by E. E. Doc Smith, with a lot of the old Starfire game and races from my old sci-fi setting. The Great War took over 130 years to resolve and resulted in the total extinction of the Ylesh and many of their subject races.
