It's an invented species that shares similar appearance/features to mouses/rats/opossums.
So yeah! rodent looking thing gotta eat a rodent to be a rodent! Cos after all you are what you eat, right?

Honestly Zira was a thought that I randomly had when I was 5,
so she purely made up of 100% imagination.
Although, she does have a lot of traits similar to rodents and marsupial.
