Hey, guys. As you know, I've decided to continue development of the Were-Bax, and I've just finished round two of colour schemes for them.
But I'd still like YOUR help!
If you, my fellow furs and viewers would be so kind as to look over these and comment down below which ** TWO ** you think would fit the character best, it'd be an amazing Help.
They will, in the future, become adoptables as well as be available for vore themed ych pieces and more!
•They have very large and sharp teeth
•They tend to drool a lot and it's appearance is rather slimy or close to sludge
•Their eyes are rather glowy and sharp ; great for hypnotizing their prey and luring their mates
•their base stature is similar to a lombax, but three to four times bigger (Females being the larger of the genders)
•Their stripes and additional markings are very glowy and bright as well and they are mostly nocturnal
•• There will be a northern and southern variation ••
•••• I am considering making Alpha / Omegas if they become pack oriented cratures ••••
▧▧▧ Female fur / base flesh will be darker and more luminescent, while males will be a bit lighter and less saturated / glow a bit less ▧▧▧
if you'd like to help, please view the current colour schemes and feel free to comment below on which two colours you find appealing!

I gotta say, I love the stripe tongue thing! It's a hard choice but I'll say A and C

Thank you very much v.v
I wanted to try something a bit different and i remembered my very first try at a lombax, i'd made my sona have a striped tongue. I feel it'd be intresting to help in differentiating between "packs" and such

Hmm gotta say A for the northern tundra areas, only one that would have natural camouflage for ease of hunting, seems d or E would be the most suitable for the southern forested areas, a blend of blacks and grays work much better than a solid singular color when there are multiple shadows and light sources in a area with no noticeable pattern towards them. F is a possibility if there are other bioluminescent species in the area, possibly leading to a fatal case of misrepresentation. C and B seem more suited to a savanna or plains habitat where the fur would conceal them among the foliage allowing the possibility of ambush predators similar to lionesses. Hmm if they have a tribal level of intellect in the pack they could utilize simple dyes for symbolic or hierarchical uses.

I'm considering the possibility of bioluminescence and or a toxic bite (for their saliva and mouths/teeth to have the similar effect of a komodo dragon). Or possibly even that some tribes coat their feet/claws in a deadly poison, possibly helping to lure prey or make hunting that much faster
Posted by Apostolos 7 years ago Report
Hmm would they be intelligent enough to utilize tools? Is there any sort of magical aptitude present like shamans or other such special existences within the species?
Posted by Apostolos 7 years ago Report
Oh and what if there are exiles from a pack?
Posted by ResidentRainbows 7 years ago Report
There will be possible exiles. Were-Bax are very up front / loyal, yet primitive and will fight for their heart and food until there is nothing of themselves left.
Elders / Females will be Shamanic, yes. They will bear nonticeably larger teeth, different marks, and are the ones i've wanted to have bioluminescence right off the bat if nothing else. They will wear upon their hair and often times their face / torso the bones of their ancestors or the being that has agitated / threatened them or their loved one

Ah I see so the tribe led by a matriarch figure? Will they be similar to historical North American Indians with possible commerce between some tribes or more similar to the Maori with ritualistic tribal warfare?
Posted by ResidentRainbows 7 years ago Report
More similar to the maori. They're actually part of my inspiration! I love how tightly knit they are and yet secretive and very formal / ritualistic.
Posted by Apostolos 7 years ago Report
Ahah hmm will you be keeping the Maori battle record tattoos as an influential factor as well? Also how much would a tribe shaman in training cost?
Posted by ResidentRainbows 7 years ago Report
The cost i'm not exactly sure just yet, but im almost set on keeping battle tattoos.
Posted by Apostolos 7 years ago Report
Okay but I'll be sure to purchase a shaman in training
Posted by ResidentRainbows 7 years ago Report
Of course it's all still heavy in development, but i will surely let you know :'>
I love your take on all this and your ideas/input. It's ever fascinating to me, and very fun to create with all this in mind! <3

You're welcome, if you're ever in need of any outside input I'd be happy to assist.

One last little thing are they the apex species or are there much larger wild species on the planet that could potentially be hunted by the tribes, whether individually or in groups, that could potentially harm the tribe? Like in fantasy games and books where there are roaming magical creatures that could potentially be dangerous to a community in large enough numbers but there are some members of the tribe strong enough to hunt these beasts.
Posted by ResidentRainbows 7 years ago Report
They will not be apex creatures. Although they are big and tough / versatile, there are much larger threats within their environment. The northerners have been rumoured to be cannibalistic, with newly bound partners biting a chunk out of one another to symbolize their being taken and or bound followed by other lovely rituals while the southerners have been said to be more.. let's say tricky with their meals. Their binding rituals being moreso with covering each other in the salivas while sharpening each other's teeth ; then swallowing them whole, testing endurance to ensure their strength, will, and with a bit of hope, to have offspring just as strong.

Hmm ... How harsh is the northern areas? On the level of Siberian tundras with harsh unforgiving nights or along the lines the semi permanent freeze of Alaska? If it's the former, then depending on the aggressiveness of the other inhabitants of the area cannibalism might be a bit harsh unless there are severe long term shortages of food as such a process would only weaken the tribes chances as one less packmate, while one less mouth to feed would also mean the burden only gets that much heavier on the rest. Although the rumor could just be based on a ritualistic sharing of blood becoming blood bonded under a shaman, could potentially have synergy increasing affects, for example threat detection, location awareness and possible simplistic sharing of intent in combat.
I'm sorry if my suggestions are going to far, I have a couple more if you're interested.
Posted by ResidentRainbows 7 years ago Report
Don't be!! I love your input, and yes, the rumours did surface due to their environment being incredibly harsh at times with mass food shortages and other happenings. Some say they survived off of stored meats and berries.. others speculated that the tribes had grown to be cannibalistic in nature to survive.. << But your commenting on bonding, scouting, and detection are very accurate >>

Another possibility I thought of could be a sort of raiding mission that could be assigned by the tribe if the population reaches critical levels, they could forcibly abduct suitable candidates from other nearby species and with the help of a powerful shaman biologically convert the abductees into infant tribe members through unbirth via a slightly faster incubation period than natural birth.
A secondary idea is that since it is a were species that would imply a possibility of virulent propagation, utilizing the raid aspect, stealthily infect members of a local low threat human or other species settlement and wait for the inevitable spread and then recruit those that survive after enforcing control of course, don't want any pesky dominance disputes until after they merge with the tribe.
Both choices can add to the cannibalistic rumors slightly as they could be mistaken as hunting for food or playing with prey, since survivors will often be traumatized. After all the results of a fight for survival aren't always pretty .

I definitely like the second idear better, as i feel it'd tie well into their useage of bioluminescence when luring prey and or the possibility of a personally secreted toxin via saliva or blood for tracks and other infecting purposes
<< I totally enjoy how into all this you are, it's -really- helped me to flesh out the species more effectively and see just how i wanna design them >>
Posted by Apostolos 7 years ago Report
Thanks, I really get into things sometimes if they peek my interest enough. Maybe the two possibilities could both be used but by different tribes in areas of differing danger levels for example a slightly safer area might only use the second option as a total last resort if only 10 % of the tribe remains and use the first option if the population drops by a third. Naturally in the harshest areas warriors will be in high demand so the second option could occur quite regularly.
Tribes that live in closer proximity to other stronger sentient species might be solely dependent on the first option as repeat incidents of virulent outbreaks could cause the neighbors to form a subjugation force. By stronger I'm referring to a vastly larger population, as before the utilization of hot weapons ( gunpowder) vast armies could potentially whittle away at even the strongest creatures till they are nothing but bone, hence a more stealth oriented long term approach.
Gonna start a new column this ones getting small.

Continuing from here if need be

I totally agree, and that's exactly what i had in mind! Their immune systems on their own are fairly unique, being that illness rarely occurs unless they're forced to be in an area that is trongly unlike their natural habitat. For instance, i'm from a very cold part of the world and am currently living in a very hot and humid place. It's physically killing me -.-
I wanted to sort of use something like that to a certain extent
Posted by Apostolos 7 years ago Report
I'm kinda the opposite myself living in the swamps really makes one dislike freezing completely
Posted by ResidentRainbows 7 years ago Report
Awwh, that's no good! Now i'm afraid to hug you D :
Posted by Apostolos 7 years ago Report
Hugs are always welcome, I have rather high body temperature already I won't get cold from others
Posted by ResidentRainbows 7 years ago Report
* squees and hugs tight * I'm a cuddly little monster, i swear
Posted by Apostolos 7 years ago Report
Hmm from my knowledge little monsters are fond of sweets and other such things *incoming bear hug* gotta get some sleep now though g'night
