When I was looking through the catalogue of different playable races for the Star Wars Saga tabletop one of the designs which immediately caught my eye was the Lugubraa. I wasn’t just another human “alien” with added extra bits and small details, but actually something that had a more unique design. It’s also a possible character for a separate saga rp in the future so expect more art of those species as well.
You can read more about those creatures here https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Lugubraa and https://swse.fandom.com/wiki/Lugubraa

Fascinating creature indeed, hope the empire doesn’t purge these ones too

Funnily enough, those were actually used by the Rakatas to purge another civilization.

Ah an ancient species indeed, they would definitely turn more profit in an Imperial museum, are they sentient?

There's the vid it's mentioned in. https://youtu.be/l1i8-gf4s2Y
And yes, to an extend. It's quite interesting, before they reach 6 months they're mostly driven by instincts like simple beasts, but when they pass 50 years of age their intelligence evolves and they gain enough cohesion to learn languages and even become adept battle tacticians. There's more info about them in the two links I provided in the description if you want to take a look yourself.
