Fails WP:GNG. I did not find WP:SIGCOV of the subject when doing a BEFORE. There is this obituary in the NYT [1]. As it stands, this seems like a case of WP:NOTMEMORIAL. TJMSmith (talk) 22:10, 22 March 2021 (UTC)

- The nominator's link appears to be to a news report of the subject's death rather than an obituary describing his life. Phil Bridger (talk) 08:41, 23 March 2021 (UTC)
- Delete Another poorly-sourced article that lingered for some time. Agree with the nominator's evaluation. Intothatdarkness 13:41, 23 March 2021 (UTC)
- Keep - Why am I not surprised? Senator William Warren "Bill" Bradley and the United States Senate paid tribute to Arroyo Jr. and the men of the 1st Marine Division honored his memory by naming their camp "Camp Arroyo" in Somalia and a beach which is several hundred yards southeast of the Mogadishu Airport "Arroyo Beach". I guess when the Government and military pay a fallen soldier tribute is because that person is notable. Tony the Marine (talk) 16:38, 24 March 2021 (UTC)
- Comment The section about his military service is completely unsourced, the linked NYT article doesn't support some of the statements in the Early Years section (such as the statement about his high school grades or his family's desire to see him go to college), and the NYT says he was the first American killed in the relief effort, not the first Puerto Rican (the headline specifically says first Marine to die in Somalia, which explains the notice paid at the time). Hackworth's article is a namecheck and has no specific information about Arroyo, let alone the details the article says it provided (the ambush, etc.). The "New Jersey Marine Buried" NYT link only brings up their search page and isn't helpful at all in terms of accurate verification. And, as a final touch, the Congressional Record cite brought up a 'failed to open' error because the server couldn't be located. Intothatdarkness 18:28, 24 March 2021 (UTC)
- Sources - More sources, is that what we need? Well then here are some more: ⭐NEW JERSEY RUN FOR THE FALLEN 2021⭐; {https://www.morebooks.de/store/gb/book/domingo-arroyo,-jr/isbn/978-613-9-97031-5 Book: Domingo Arroyo Jr. United Taask Force; Somali Civil War; United States Marine Corps; ISBN-13 978-613-9-97031-5]; Congressional Senate Record; DOMINGO ARROYO - An American Hero from Puerto Rico, USA; Recalling Big Dreams of the First Marine to Die in Somalia; New York Times and so on. Tony the Marine (talk) 01:51, 25 March 2021 (UTC)
- Tony, most of those links don't help your cause: they cite Wikipedia, i.e. this article, so can't be used as a source. The NYT article appears to already be cited so isn't new. Zawed (talk) 07:07, 25 March 2021 (UTC)
- Accurate use of sources would also be helpful. I've seen sources either misquoted or misattributed in many of these articles. I've already highlighted examples in this article and corrected one or two, but others remain. The NYT article is already cited (and paraphrased incorrectly in at least one instance). - Delete lacks SIGCOV in multiple RS to meet WP:GNG or any specific notability guideline. Yet another thinly-sourced "first Puerto Rican to do/die doing something" page by its creator who should have a better understanding of WP:N and sourcing. Mztourist (talk) 09:27, 25 March 2021 (UTC)
- Delete as per comments above RE SIGCOV. Zawed (talk) 08:45, 26 March 2021 (UTC)
