Nah I’m confident that the Megalon “fight” was just literally them not wanting to do the show. So they staged a “fight” and they both ran out the front door to not be seen again that night… that’s basic Doomery
It was a crazy time to be an Underground Hip Hop fan in the early 2000s, up until about 2006ish. DOOM was insane, dude opened a lot of musical doors for me.
Grimm was a great dude (I produced multiple songs on his American Hunger album) he really did get screwed over by many people and things, and he really did feel Doom was part of it and there was money that was mishandled but not directly by Doom. Grimm had been screwed so much that he really just was watching his back, it was a prison mentally. I'm glad they did come back to good terms later, hip hop was better with them together
Freddie Gibbs got that older style flow and delivery which isn't heard often anymore and fits in the category of your more traditional rappers.. but Doom was a storyteller whom didn't rely on a beat or melody... he just spoke to the mic and the beat followed. Can't compare the two honestly they aren't anything alike beside the oddball tracks they choose to rap over.
Grimm and DOOM calling each other brothers makes their beefs make sense to me. Even if they’re not related, if they see themselves as brothers, you don’t always gotta be getting along with people you consider family. Brothers fight all the time.
MF DOOM catalogue Madvillain definitely is the pinnacle of sample/producing. But Doomsday holds that special place as my favorite DOOM album of all time. The whole album on repeat all day. Rest easy Daniel Dumile and Subroc.
I think the old me would have probably taken sides one way or the other. But now, the irony of his statement contradicting that, seems like purposeful to show he wasnt being serious maybe? Hope its true they didnt really beef. Kinda like FG and MF doom

There's even a Megalon diss track directed at MF DOOM called "You Was My Son" from his and Raylong's Nickel Bag album. DOOM took money from a bunch of the Czars, not just Grimm, Megalon was one of them, and he was never paid back (that I am aware of.)

@Miles Prower Yup, also I read a Ghostface bit recently where he says DOOM told him he got his style from him and considering what Grimm says in B.O.D, yikes 😬
I got my own theory about the Fancy Clown track: I think it's possible DOOM's girl hadn't known about the mask and then he stepped to her with it on and she didn't recognize him. He caught her cheating first hand. Could of course just be tongue in cheek fiction.
I thought it was about her liking DOOM only because he's DOOM (the man with the mask). She really doesn't like the real person (Daniel Dumile), so she "cheats" on him with a stage persona(DOOM).

However, Mf Doom is a better writer, which makes him a giant when considering him as a contemporary. But rapping better? i just cannot agree, Gibbs may not flow smarter, but he flows way smoother.
@@tenderonibaloney8854I feel like if we’re talking just raw rapping, flow wise it would go to DOOM. DOOM also had way better lyricism and concepts overall. Both are great artists, but I think saying Freddie’s better than DOOM is ridiculous to some extent, but it’s all opinionated at the end of the day. @Miles Prower Yup, also I read a Ghostface bit recently where he says DOOM told him he got his style from him and considering what Grimm says in B.O.D, yikes 😬
I got my own theory about the Fancy Clown track:
I think it's possible DOOM's girl hadn't known about the mask
and then he stepped to her with it on and she didn't recognize him.
@@Ascending11 ow, Yeah I like that idea too
Viktor Vaughn is the one rapping on fancy clown not DOOM
@@zxcvb243 Exactly **taps temples**
Great video and I love you use of the Ecruteak City/Cianwood City theme from pokemon silver and gold!
A villain in your land, in his land a ruler
The Megalon incident sounds exactly like something DOOM would contrive as a joke
As much as I love DOOM, Vik is where its at.
Man we were robbed of a DOOM and Vik Vaughn beef album.
Dude I love your channel and all the references. Left 4 dead music. So classic.
probably the best co-op ever made i’d say

The 2000s underground hip hop scene was actually all online but all the forums are gone 😂
Been listening to rap since 1984 and NO ONE can touch the bar's of DOOM . He is the GOAT without a doubt. So glad I found him since he's really not promoted in the mainstream. RIP
The matrix was made by 2 transgender women.
That’s why I always say that MF DOOM is the Mozart of hiphop ❤
wtf bro, not even a minute i am feeling the feels combined of the fallout music, tf2 music, mf doom and freddie gibbs combined fuck, thanks
I’m a huge fan of Gibbs, but GAT DAMN, that nigga need to show some respect. I totally get competition, I get holding your own, I get being confident in yourself. But once again, GAT DAMN, you cannot not get up and say that you better than DOOM. Their styles are completely different so there’s nothing really to compare. Both are legendary emcees in their own right. But holy fuck, what a mistake… NOBODY is “better” than DOOM.
I'm better than DOOM.

bro yes he can say he’s better than DOOM. Rappers gotta talk their shit dude, you know this if you listen to hip hop
Glad to see u blowing up still absurd. Mad how far you’ve come since I watched your first DOOM video.
MF doom and Gibbs never Beefed, and Freddie plays a rap bully, and mf doom plays a madvillian. both can be corny, but hardly comparable.
But you know MF DOOM raps better
@@expertguy101 even though this is a mf doom echo-chamber im willing to say he does not rap better than gibbs. they can't rap better than one another, they don't even rap in the same style. If you have a preference sure, but Gibbs can run with syllables and follow music flow 100x better than mf doom could attempt. Gibbs is harmonically a better musician.
Majority of Freddie’s music isn’t the most advanced rapping, and is about selling cocaine, and the other repeating topics he emphasizes amongst his albums, whilst DOOM diversified his topics quite a bit, and did more of what he felt like doing. Both are great artists, but I think saying Freddie’s better than DOOM is ridiculous to some extent, but it’s all opinionated at the end of the day. I’ll also add that their music is not similar by any means really, and Freddie came up in a completely different time for rap than DOOM did.
@@bozotoso MF doom is quite boring to listen to actually. Like I get it man. You're a fan boi. He looks so much greater than he is. But for the most part, 70% of his music is monotone and quite unpleasant for long hearing sessions
@@tenderonibaloney8854 Im not a “fanboi” nor am I against your opinion. I’m just stating he’s the more skilled artist in my book. If you don’t enjoy it, I get that. I personally enjoy both artists.
4:48 MF Grimm has Bars PLZ listen to his solo work if you haven’t it is really good.
Gibbs and Doom are two of my all time favorite MCs, maybe the top two, but Doom takes the cake for me. I bet a lot of people can't stand either of their flows at all, but for me, uniqueness is 90% of it and they're certainly the best at that.
No one ever talks about the jabs DOOM and Keith would take at each other over the years
Is this man's using Left 4 Dead 2 soundtrack as his background music? Lol
MF DOOM music makes me happy…
Freddie Gibbs music just makes me feel like i dont have all my shit together …(on top of a cool beat)
I love the left 4 dead theme in the background and freddie gibs is no where near mf dooms level
RIP MF DOOM, will be always underground insane hip hop artist ever.
9:02 people using a toothpick as an accessory is always bizarre
Freddie Gibbs is right tho. There is a difference between producing and rapping. He was just saying he thinks he's better at rapping while Doom is better at producing.
But even then he’s wrong, DOOM is def a better producer and rapper, cmon now
ALL CAPS...MF DOOM any day
lol shoutout to you for the tracks in the background. I heard that cowboy bepop song in there lol
Absurd Existence is like Sean Evans with the DOOM research. Very good
lol
thank you for this!
To say that Doom may have "faked his death" is blasphemy imo.
The fact that his wife announced his death is a huge clue. When has his family ever taken the spotlight for his stunts?
Watch conscious X , he’s batshit crazy and there’s a lot who believe him as he “exposes” rappers wearing masks and there’s one on DOOM
Dude is disrespectful. I will see him one day.
