Taurs are fast and Vanyar isn't an exception. Even with the added weight of her passenger, retreating (aka running away) is her best option when they're detected and attacked.
Its quite uncomfortable for Satomi, being thrown around like that, but possibly getting a few bruises is way better than getting shot at.

She'll live :) She won't be happy about this, but she'll live. They both have trained together for these sudden movements.
