So, as a bit of a fun fact, this story and both of its endings were originally planned for a late July release. It ended up getting shelved temporarily in favor of getting my Vore Day story for this year done, and man did it take longer than I was expecting to take it off of that shelf. Even if it's out a month later than planned, I'm glad to have this story finally ready to be posted! And besides, two stories in one month is great! Arguably three depending on whether you want to count the two endings as their own separate stories or not.

I still say Fossil Fighters Frontier, while I do believe it is the weakest of the Fossil Fighters games overall, has some of the best characters in the series... And a small few of the worst, but mostly good ones. And the moment I wrapped up the missions for the Red Fang and the Green Wave in the post-game, I knew I had to write something with Heckcat and Gauss. Originally I was going to write both of them with their own individual stories, but then the idea of the two of them making this little wager popped into my head, and... Well, the rest is history! As far as which of them I'd say I like more... I don't think I could pick one of them and stick with them. They're both really enjoyable characters for their own reasons.

While I'm probably taking a break from Fossil Fighters for a bit with three of my last four uploads being Fossil Fighters related now, I'm definitely coming back to this series, specifically Frontier. I've got plenty of characters I still want to write with from this game, some I have ideas for already, others I don't.
