A princess comes up with a unique method of choosing a husband.
Just me playing with style, going for a sort of fairy tale-type story, like The Princess and the Pea or similar. I was also exploring the idea that a person's character/mental state has an effect on digestion, which I might try again sometime.

i think i get it , her mental state changed how she digested people . all the others were annoying but the commoner wasn't so he lived.
also all those guys were really dumb if they were even a little smart they would've had a priest ready to revive them or a sorcerer ready to teleport them away

This one reads like Fairy tale, and its very creative it must be said :)
