The Amazon isles are fraught with danger and hungry bellies. A fact that applies even to prey species like Amazons. Who when given the chance will fill their stomachs will all sorts of delectable fruit. However, this contains certain risks. As many of the isles’ predators know that their prey is most vulnerable at times like these. Distracted by her meal and unaware of the danger lurking in the leaves even this fleet footed scout is unable to attempt an escape before being hypnotized and consumed. Luckily for her, the experience will be quite pleasurable due to her trance like state. Unluckily for her, she will only last a week before her body is reduced to a nutrient rich stew in the stomach of this quite satisfied serpent. With what remains of her going onto fertilize the very trees she ate from. So often does this happen that some theorize that in the Isles fruits may have come about not for the sake reproduction, but to lure Amazonian prey into nearby gullets for the plant’s own benefit. An adaptation of symbiosis with the isles’ predators that keeps the cycle of life in constant equilibrium.
