Y'know, this sort of thing, with the best-tasting prey being those you care most about, has always had me conflicted.
On the one hand, I get it being about a twisted form of unity in the "part of me" sense. On the other, I personally would prefer to just keep them around so I may continue to care about them. Unless it was consensual on the prey's part (whether me or the other), I probably wouldn't do it.
