With the Agarthans taking control of Adrestia, Cornelia felt that their influence could extend further. Why only take Fodlan when they could take the world? The first stop on that point was Brigid. Their princess, Petra, had been fighting alongside the Adrestians, but Cornelia would swiftly take care of that.

She caught her unaware, quickly devouring the Brigid Princess. And unluckily for Dorothea, she picked a bad time to come visit. Devouring her wouldn't further their cause, but Cornelia would never say no to seconds.
