Why you can’t take Koloktos’ sword.
 
 
  The Hero of time Link was in a showdown with the automaton Koloktos who had been animated by Ghirahim’s magic in the Sacred Cistern. Koloktos guarded the first sacred flame that he needed to strengthen the Skyward Sword into the Master Sword. He had torn off Koloktos’ arms during the fight more than once allowing him to briefly use one of Koloktos’ own swords to attack him during the last leg of the fight.
 
 
When Koloktos’ body distorted and exploded into pieces the light of a heart container lit up the chamber prompting Link to take it and move on. However before he did that Link ran up to one of the dropped swords.
 
 
Fi’s telepathic voice interrupted him “Master Link it is too big to carry” she said having already realized the hero’s intention.
 
 
  As if to prove a point Link picked up the Koloktos’ sword and turned to Fi, not speaking but his gesture made it clear he meant to defy her claim.
 
  Fi looked away in an extremely rare moment of embarrassment before correcting herself “Master, I conjecture the Koloktos’ sword is too big to be used practically, and I detect a 92% chance attempting to use the sword in further combat may prove burdensome to your quest.”
 
  Fi was met with Link’s usual silence but he just stared at her for only a few seconds before Fi felt the need to speak again if only to break the awkward silence.
 
 
  “Further I am unable to determine a means of carrying the blade in any practical way.”
Fi thought that would be the end of it, that Link would realize that the Koloktos sword wasn’t worth taking with them and would get over his desire to use that blade instead of the Master Sword.
 
 
  Impossibly Link managed to stuff the entirety of the Koloktos Sword into his bag along with his other equipment. It shouldn’t have been possible, then again he was already carrying so many items it was a wonder if his bag was some unknown portal to another dimension.
 
 
  Fi was left baffled, and was silent for a long moment before speaking telepathically to Link “Master… It seems I was incorrect in my assessment. I will make adjustments with this new data to avoid future errors” despite her synthetic feminine voice there were certainly some emotions behind her words. It was clear by her tone that she was embarrassed.Without another word she dematerialized into the skyward sword.
 
 
  From that point on in Link’s journey the Koloktos sword seemed to replace her as his primary weapon. He would use it often, and while initially indifferent, her data on the Koloktos sword began to compile, and she began to feel that it was burdensome to the quest set forth by Hylia.
 
 
  There were of course exceptional cases where Link had no choice but to use the Goddess Blade, namely to activate the Imprisoned’s seal, Goddess Symbols, Goddess Cubes, and to fight Tentalus who’s larger tentacles could only be cut by skyward strikes.
 
 
Eventually at the Fire Sanctuary, Link fought two Lizalfos. He used the Koloktos sword but the Lizalfos dodged easily and struck at him. Link managed to land a strike on the Lizalfos when it hit him, defeating it. Then he tried to strike at the second Lizalfos only for the same thing to happen. Normally with the skyward sword it was possible for Link to avoid taking any damage, but because of the bulkiness of the Koloktos sword the damage from the Lizalfos was unavoidable.
 
  After defeating both Lizalfos Fi materialized from the Goddess Blade and spoke to him in her synthetic feminine voice. She said “Master, I advise you to discontinue your use of the Koloktos sword. My analysis suggests with 78% certainty its bulkiness has only hindered your combat capability.” Link stopped moving when Fi appeared and after she finished speaking he was silent for a long moment like he was deciding what to say. Finally he said “I understand that Fi. But this is more fun” Fi felt strange hearing these words, it was an outright refusal to her advice. She was not programmed to argue with the Hero in the case of poor judgment. She silently looked at him for a long moment as she tried to produce a response, like a computer locking up. Finally Fi nodded and said “Very well” before dematerializing into the Skyward Sword. It was a new feeling for Fi, the data she gained from this conversation. She felt the opposite feeling she used to have when traveling alongside Link. The opposite of her developing happiness.
 
 
A new set of data had entered Fi’s developing personality. From that data she experienced the feeling of Jealousy. A feeling she previously had witnessed when Groose learned of Link’s role in the prophecy. She began to resent the Koloktos sword, she saw it as something that threatened her usefulness to her master Link and therefore threatened her developing feeling of happiness on the adventure they were having in which she was slowly being sidelined to this… inferior weapon! She would get rid of the sword… somehow.
 
 
  One night following Link’s trip to the fire sanctuary and acquisition of Din’s flame, Link slept peacefully in his room in the knights academy. Fi manifested from the Master Sword with one goal in mind. She had a plan and was about to act on her feelings of jealousy which only grew since his last remark to her. She floated over to Link’s bag which was left by his bedside, as she did she monitored his vitals to ensure he would not wake up. If he did she would dematerialize into the Skyward Sword hopefully before he recognized her presence. She found difficulty opening the bag without hands, but eventually she managed using her robe arms to pull open the bag. Just by desiring to withdraw the Koloktos sword she pulled out the weapon that had come to replace her. Her usually emotionless expression curved into a slight frown at the sight of the comically large blade.
 
  She needed to get rid of it, but how? They were in Skyloft, she couldn’t hide it in the village, it’s dangerous leaving weapons like that laying around. She couldn’t toss it off into the sky, Link would probably just ask her to dowse for it. She thought about how this blade was taking her place as Link’s primary sword, she was the spirit of the Master Sword, how could this replace her? She wanted to be useful for him… so the prophecy could be fulfilled, or so she told herself. She would do whatever she could to help Link accomplish his goal, but was there something else? Something about the way she felt about him made her absolutely despise this blade. She was only now coming to terms with these feelings which she was experiencing for the first time since she was created. She didn’t want to just hide the sword, she wanted to destroy it completely.
 
  Fi tried to think of a way to destroy the sword, her mind computed and processed results until she found one. It seemed impractical, but being a sword spirit Fi’s body didn’t quite have the same limits a human body might. She saw an opportunity and opened up her mouth. The inside of her mouth and tongue was the same light blue color as the rest of her body. She lowered Koloktos’ blade into her mouth and began to swallow it. If Fi were human this would likely result in a fatal injury but she didn’t have to worry about that thanks to her nature as a sword spirit. She swallowed the sword down until it protruded as a bulge in her belly beneath her purple dress.
 
  It felt good getting the blade down, it was the first time Fi had eaten anything at all. It was a sword no less, and it still satisfied her. Though the feeling of the sword’s shape in her belly did cause some discomfort. She felt a mixture of satisfaction and discomfort. She tried to process a solution that would help relieve her discomfort without waking Link.
 
  She had seen his bag still open and an idea entered into her mind. She would eat some items that Link didn’t need anymore, things she hoped he wouldn’t miss.
 
  She wasted no time swallowing the slingshot which had become obsolete in comparison with Link’s bow. She then ate the seed satchel that Link never bothered upgrading.
 
  She swallowed a wooden and metal shield to relieve her stomach somewhat which growled quietly in response. Link had already upgraded a sacred shield, so Fi concluded that devouring his other shields would not hinder his quest by a significant margin.
 
  Next she pulled out the beetle and carefully tried to decide if it was worth eating the remotely piloted beetle drone or not. She held it in her hands and carefully studied it’s intricate gold and blue pattern. She already memorized what it looked like but she hesitated in case he still needed it. But that same feeling of jealousy came to her again. She was enough, she was worth more than this silly primitive device. If Link needed to ring the bell on Beedle’s store she would float up and ring it for him, if he needed to knock something out of the sky she would float up and kick it. She would be useful, she had to be! She opened her mouth and slowly slid the beetle drone inside, gulping it down to join the rest of the small arsenal in her gut.
 
 
Her belly bulged several feet out oddly shaped and it hung down, no doubt because of the Koloktos sword. Her purple dress still covered some of it but a decent margin poked out exposing her light blue stomach.The addition of new items alongside the Koloktos sword had caused her belly to develop a near roundness and it was more comfortable for Fi. She began rubbing at her belly with her robe arms if only to help the items inside corrode and break down quicker. She didn’t’ think much about how good it felt. She had tricked herself into thinking that this would help Link’s quest, though in truth she may have done it out of a desire to be valued by her Master Link again…
 
  Her belly growled a little and she covered it with her robe arms to muffle the noise so that she could avoid waking Link who would no doubt be upset with her having eaten from his inventory.
 
She floated and for a little while she felt content, it wasn’t the same happiness she got from accompanying LInk on his journey, but it was doubtlessly a positive feeling, a welcome relief from the pain of inferiority and jealousy. She entertained the thought of the Koloktos sword melting inside of her… becoming part of a superior sword.
 
 
She looked at Link sleeping peacefully on the bed. and gave a rare smile at the sight of the hero sleeping so blissfully unaware of what she had done. It was as though she thought the sight of him sleeping so comfortably was reassuring.
 
  Fi silently monitored Link’s vitals as she waited for her belly to flatten out completely, digesting the items and even absorbing some of their magic in the case of the Koloktos sword and the beetle. She dematerialized into the Master Sword eager to be put to use tomorrow, hoping her master wouldn’t be too upset over the loss of the Koloktos sword, and excited at the thought of being put to use again as his primary weapon!
