“Uh…. Bug, I think…. I think your frog is angry,”

Observed as rather worried Triksa nervously, as she skirted away from the mardy mare’s massive and very much agitated gollox, which had puffed itself up with an aggravated hiss. The scared Lamia not quite sure of how to react to the inflated posturing and vexing vocalizations unfurling before her, as she had barely even approached the blubbery beast before it had reacted violently to her presence. The croaking amphibian attempting to look bigger, as something about Triksa’s serpentine lower body had stoked it into a frenzy. The ribbiting Rana expanding its already broad belly, as the tubby tetrapod reflexively to a terrifying threat response in the face of a possible primordial predator.

“It’s just scared of you, snakes are one of its few natural predators, just back up slowly, or it’s going to start spraying toad milk at you,” replied Bug with a nonchalant warning, clearly used to this sort of behaviour from her pudgy pink pet. The gollox gargling Triksa with an increased ferocity, and the cold reception was enough to make the cyan mare flinch, as it snapped its gummy jaws in an attempt to look dangerous. The gormless thing trying its best to remain intimidating in front of the equine’s more ophidian features, as its instincts guided it through how to deal with the concerning stimuli it had been presented with. The formidable frog facing directly at Triksa with a menacing intensity, as it remained firmly planted, and seemingly set on standing its ground like a doughy wall of slimy indignation.

“Um… okay…..” agreed Triksa meekly, as she tried to discretely slither away from the growling creature with a slow shuffle. Bug watching with a bemused smile, as Triksa put up her hooves and tried to disarm the situation with a few disarming hushing noises, even if the distraught gollox was having none of it. It was enough to earn an amused huff from the mardy mare, as she knew her perturbed pet would calm down once Triksa was out of its direct line of sight. The foolish thing fast to forget, even if its stubborn character often made placating it a bit of a chore for the grey glutton compared to the simpler natures of her preferred worms. Even so, the bulbous bullfrog had its useful quirks, though if Triksa didn’t get a move on she was going to find out firsthand about the potently bitter nature of its hallucinogenic bufotoxin…
