Tails roamed the Blue Typhoon's engine room a bit aimlessly. He'd already tightened up every bolt he could find, and cleaned each vent to the best of his ability… but he wasn't quite ready to head back up to the bridge, where he knew Cosmo was waiting. The two had had a bit of a scuffle earlier that day. She seemed a little tense and on edge, so the bi-tailed fox boy thought it might be best to just give her a little space. That policy always worked with Sonic, though, Sonic always just made his own space. Tails couldn't deny that he was getting a bit bored however, and he wasn't sure just how much longer he could occupy himself down here.
 
 
It had been a full two hours now, and so with a heavy sigh and slumped shoulders, Tails finally told himself that he couldn't put it off any longer. He was sure to take the long, roundabout walk back however, to give himself plenty of time to think about how to approach her again. Should he stand his ground? Apologize profusely? In truth, he didn't quite remember what their argument had been about, and even if he had, he did remember that it was all over something quite silly. Perhaps she was just in… a mood. If so it would be best for him to simply bite the bullet and say that he was sorry.
 
 
The walk was as slow as he could manage it to be, allowing him to rehearse every possible line he could think of. Hopefully it would be enough to account for the most relevant possibilities. When he arrived however, he found her in an unusually fidgety condition. The plant girl was looking every which way, and licking her lips incessantly, unmistakably distracted about something. Tails was struck with a strong feeling their little spat was a symptom. Not a cause.
 
 
"Everything okay Cosmo?" asked the fox, putting on his most empathic face.
 
 
"Oh… Tails." Cosmo went a bit red faced at the question. "I'm sorry I lost my umm…" She paused, struggling to find the right word. "Temper? Yes. My temper with you earlier. I… I have remembered something since then. I… suppose… I am angry because I am hungry." The words came out with some difficulty, like she was admitting something deeply personal.
 
 
"You're hangry?" Tails simplified, looking more than a little confused. He didn't know all that much about the needs of those from Green Gate, and had done his best to avoid prying too much into Cosmo's life about it.
 
 
"You see Tails… I think… I am about to enter a… a growth spurt." she explained. "O-on my planet we'd normally consume a certain type of… protein rich root to satisfy the cravings that come before but…"
 
 
"But… here there isn't much in the way of protein. At least on the scale you need…" Tails finished for her.
 
 
Cosmo simply nodded, still blushing. There was… at least one source of protein that both were aware of, but neither were quite willing to consider just yet. "I am… not really sure what to do about
this though…"
 
 
Tails joined in on her uncomfortable fidgeting. He wanted to help her. He really did, but it would be at least a week before the Typhoon stopped by a planet that might have what she needed.
 
 
"Well… I'm sure we can come up with something. We've gotten out of worse situations, haven't we?" he offered, internally wincing at just how much of a cop-out response that sounded.
 
 
Cosmo smiled in response, but her attention was soon shifted towards a certain voluptuous, white haired bat that passed by in the hallway just beyond. The intrusive thought that permeated her mind at that moment frightened her a bit. Rouge was her friend. Why would she even think about her like that? Why did she look… so… delicious?
 
 
Tails followed Cosmo's gaze just in time to see Rouge's wide hips disappear behind the doorway. Even without a single word, he could tell exactly where the plant girl's mind was going. "You a-are correct. There is no need to do anything… rash."
 
 
It was clear that the both of them were distracted, to an extreme even. They managed to meet each other's gaze, both knowing exactly what the other was thinking, but far too conflicted, and far too embarrassed, to admit to one another. They quickly glanced away, both of them red as an evening sun on Mobius.
 
 
"Well.. I-I guess I'll head back to the computer a-and… see if I can't… cook something up." Tails then continued, excusing himself for the moment, mainly to get his thoughts in order, or at least to try to...
 
 
Tails spent much of that evening researching into theoretical, seasonal diets of plant based life. His efforts were often thwarted however, by a combination of his imagination running wild, and fears of what might happen to his beloved flower if he couldn't find… something to do. Would she be stunted? Worse? Further, why had Rouge needed to pass by at that exact moment? It was her fault! What else was he supposed to think about after that?
 
 
Cosmo similarly failed to level her mind after such a spontaneous encounter. She'd long known the bat to be unceremoniously flirtatious, often making passes at her precious fox. Now however, the allure had been pushed onto her as well. Perhaps it was the… emerging hormones of this time in her life but… Rouge was indeed a delectable specimen, in more ways than one now.

No matter how many times he crunched the numbers, Tails's computer kept coming back to the exact same conclusion. There was no way to reasonably come by the meat she needed on the ship, and no way to alter course that would save any time. They were between a rock and a hard place here, and solutions weren't forthcoming. It was here, in another moment of frustration after re-examining the variables, that a message popped up in the corner of his screen, with Rouge's smug face beside it.
 
 
Hey there hun. Couldn't help but notice you and the green girl having a bit of a lover's quarrel earlier today. Thought maybe you might want to… talk about it?
 
 
Tails rolled his eyes. He knew her, the last thing she really wanted to do was talk. She either saw a payday, or a lay when she offered something like this… or anything really. That woman only had two things on her mind.

The moment he hit send, Tails was overtaken with a wash of second-guessing himself. He wasn't really going to do it was he? No. He'd just entertain the idea for a little bit, maybe hang out with the bat for a while, and then relax. After all, maybe it was time someone played her for a change. On her side, Rouge smiled broadly at the message she'd received. Finally, the fox boy had given into her. Tails spent all of an hour sorting through the Typhoon's mess hall, refamiliarizing himself with all the implements and digging through the storage. In fact there was still a veritable feast of foods left on the ship, but it was all fruits, veggies, and grain. None of the meat that a growing flower like Cosmo needed, unfortunately.
 
 
It was only after he'd checked every nook and cranny that Tails noticed exactly how late it was. He sighed annoyedly. He should have expected as much really. Rouge did have a whole thing about being fashionably late. Knowing her, she was probably waiting for the perfect time to hit on him, so to speak. Making him want it all the more, even though all he'd mentioned was just… talking, until he was ready to burst. She'd probably call it something like seasoning the steak. He chuckled to himself on realizing the irony of that. The thought of taking the control she thought she had over him and turning it on her was quite… delectable.
 
 
She approached with that same, bobbing hip sway that she always had, with her eyes half-lidded and lips curled into a sensually confident smile. Even from a distance he could easily tell that she'd gone braless this night. "W-well. We learned…" Tails's eyes affixed to those melons like a homing missile onto its target. That… tingling sensation… That shoulder devil was back. He swallowed hard. "Oh. That's sweet Tails, but you didn't need to…" Before she could finish that thought, Tails lifted up the cover, letting the delicious, roasted body of a certain bat come into view for her, still steaming appetizingly.
 
 
Cosmo gasped audibly. Her first thoughts were clouded by complete shock. Moments later however, the confusion gave way to intrigue, and the fear to sensual intensity. She bit her lip, then licked her lips hungrily, just as Tails hoped she would. "Th-this is… for me?" she asked with cautious tone, still not sure if all of this was real.
 
 
"Well, if you don't mind, I'd like a bite or two as well." responded Tails, smiling and trying to turn on the charm as much as he could. "It was a lot of work. Haha."
 
 
"O-oh. Right. Sorry… I'm such a… What is the Earth animal? A… pig?" The plant girl blushed slightly.
 
 
"N-no you're not!" Tails insisted. "You're beautiful! Just hungry. I am too, looking at this feast. I'm pretty proud of it. Didn't know I had it in me~" With that, he pulled up a couple of chairs finding that Cosmo had already picked up the carving fork and knife he'd left on the tray.

Both laughed, as though it were just a silly, quirky suggestion and not a wild taboo they'd already crossed.

Both spent some time washing the silverware they'd made use of, silently pondering how the evening had gone. Some… tiny vestige of societal norm did have them considering what they'd done but for the most part, they were quiet not out of awkwardness, but rather out of a soft afterglow. Rouge's body had practically been made for devouring and really, what could anyone expect with the way she carried herself. Instead, for the moment both Tails and Cosmo were simply, wordlessly enjoying being in each other's presence. It was only when everything had practically been polished to a perfect shine that they dared to move forward.
 
 
"Tails?" began the flower girl. "Would you like to… hang up…longer, perhaps?"
 
 
"Hang out?" Tails corrected. "S-sure!" He tried to hold the raw excitement he was feeling from his voice. "At… my room?"
 
 
A nodded affirmation from Cosmo was all it took. Minutes later both were sitting comfortably on the Fox's bed, both given to obvious anticipation, though both were nervous to make the next move. To Tails's relief, it was Cosmo who first spoke.
 
 
"These have… grown so much already, with so much protein." she said, folding her arms under her chest, thereby propping them up for the boy to see. "I am curious what they… feel… like… i-in the hands of another." There was no mistaking the look she gave him. Those were bedroom eyes.
 
 
"W-well…" Tails's heart was racing. Far more than it was even when the bat was teasing him. "If you… w-would like that…"
 
 
Cosmo smiled. "I would… very much so."
 
 
That was the final gate unlocked. Tails playfully scooted up to the girl until they were hip to hip. His hands awkwardly, but dutifully reached up to loosen her suit, ready to stop at any moment if she changed her mind. She didn't, to his great joy, and moments later, both nectar-filled ladies were finally free. Initially his motions were short and uncertain. A soft poke with one finger here, and a gentle rub with another there.
 
 
Cosmo almost seemed humored by his overcaution. Seeing him so careful was proof in her eyes that the last thing he wanted to do was hurt or offend her. It was not only cute, but also romantic. She gave a soft swoon, both in appreciation for how playful and charming it was and to hopefully encourage him to go just a little further. He was so cute. So small. The perfect grabbing size really, though she refrained, rather enjoying the motions he made of his own volition.
 
 
And go further he did. Tails felt a degree of tingling in his manhood that he'd never felt before. Not even the first time his gaze wandered to Amy years ago. Despite the differences with which they perceived the connection, both were perfectly satisfied with how the evening played out. After some time of this, the lad finally managed to pull away, if only for a moment. Finding a seat on the side, he simply patted the top of his thighs softly. In fact, she was almost afraid that she might be pushing too hard onto him, breaking him like a toy. Tails wouldn't have had it any other way however. For his part Tails's hands were in their own personal heaven, admiring the firm, yet supple consistency of Cosmo's chest. He could tell from her reactions that she enjoyed it just as much, if not more. She spent much of her slumber, playfully holding on to Tails as if she were hugging her favorite stuffed animal, and Tails himself could think of no better way to fall asleep. The next day, both cleaned up, together in the same bathroom, letting the water droplets trickle down Cosmo's smooth, newly curvaceous form. Tails's fur made him look a good deal smaller, wet and packed against his form, but to Cosmo, this only made him that much more darling to look at. He was so perfectly compact compared to her that… she only wanted to protect him more.
 
 
Both knew that she would be hungry again soon. The stories of what this period of growth would be like were ingrained in Cosmo's subconscious, and Tails had done his research to guestimate with at least some confidence how much protein she would need. For now though, she was satisfied, and when the Typhoon made it back to Earth… Well, there was a veritable buffet there that she could choose from…
