Zelda's Diary - Holiday Edition
The Rito reporter Penn came to visit today. He wanted my help searching for the missing Rito bard Kass, who helped Link with finding many ancient shrines during the time of the Calamity and had the photo of the Champion's we took just after their inauguration. Naturally, Link and I felt inclined to help, though Link needed to do so in disguise at the request of Penn's boss, Traysi.
We took him to the Mushroom Kingdom to see Peach, who was our best lead for finding someone missing outside of Hyrule. To our surprise, she took us to the North Pole of all places, where we met with Santa Claus... who is real. I'm still processing that a bit myself. He pointed us in the direction of the Flower Kingdom, which neighbors with the Mushroom Kingdom.
During our journey there, Link and I got to try out some of the power-ups scattered throughout the kingdom. In my case, I had a drill atop my head that allowed me to burrow into the ground and gave me immunity to attacks from above. We found Kass trapped inside a Wonder zone. Before we could save him though, Bowser showed up to kidnap him. Not only that, but Master Kohga of the Yiga Clan appeared as well.
We battled both of them and won. I managed to convince Master Kohga to give up his evil ways and attempt to integrate the Yiga Clan into Hyrulean society. Building a fully united Hyrule has been a dream of mine ever since the Calamity. After the battle, we returned to Peach's Castle and had a wonderful feast.
Peach and I both ate more than we probably should, but fortunately, Link was there to help massage my overstuffed belly. Before we spent the night, Toadette also requested I eat her as a gift, since she had enjoyed that the last time I visited. My belly very full, Link and I fell fast asleep, spending our first holiday together after the Upheaval...

Merry Clausmas! I was struck by a bit of inspiration earlier this year to do a story for the holiday with Penn searching for Kass (since the bard is noticeably absent in Tears of the Kingdom). When thinking of who could keep Penn (and Zelda and Link of course) search outside of Hyrule, my mind wandered to Peach, and then I realized I could do a (non-canon) Princesses' Odyssey holiday special with derpsquid42! We had a lot of fun writing this... which is probably why it ended up a bit long. If you can't stomach a story of this size, don't worry. The portion with just the feast (also known as the part with stuffing/vore) will be coming out later today!

Can't believe Nintendo dropped the ball with TotK DLC... I think this is a much better explanation about where Kass went then what they did. Or didn't do.
And a bit of an understatement at the end with eating "more than they should".[ Reply ]

...Wait, was that a pun in the description?

I'm still delusionally thinking there will be DLC...
Zelda isn't going to overstate it.[ Reply ]

I like the fact there is no DLC planned. It means they produced a finished experience and not some half baked truffle that’s missing the top 1/3 of it…. Also I always just assumed Riju ate Kass. Based on nothing other than he is birb and Urbosa’s amiibo tends to drop birb meats

That is the duality of it. On the one hand, they took their time and released a completed game that does have gobs of content, but that doesn't mean I don't still want more... Particularly more Zelda cutscenes (or even better, playable Zelda moments in the past). Also, you'd do my boy Kass dirty like that? He's such a nice guy.
