The lives of three people intersect on a train. Riste, a thief; Notch, an investigator; and Zala, an attendant. Three different versions tell this story from each character's perspective.

I appreciate the choice of perspective! I read Notch, Riste, then Zala in order, and it hits differently to follow Zala's train of thought last, with how she occupies herself during the stakeout ^^
My heart goes to Notch, though. The toughest nuts are always the sweetest when they finally crack, no? Well, I suppose Zala will have all sorts of nuts to sample with her new choice of vocation. A curious idea to appeal to Notch's vanity, but it seemed to work in the end. Still, I would stay away from any vat of acid if I were in her sleeve. The man definitely sounds like he enjoys it served cold.
As for Riste, he really fell for the "quick, hide in my mouth/pussy" ploy! Such a tender morsel too, though I was a bit baffled when he called Zala a banana x) That poor boy didn't have much going for him beside his incomplete prey instincts...

Thanks for taking the time to read all three versions. You're right that Riste was designed to be hopeless. Notch would have caught him if Zala had not intervened. To clarify, he calls Zala a banana because she is yellow and long, and he is not good at coming up with insults.
