Working on fleshing these two out! They live in a far off town in my world building and have full control over it.

Odea, who had an office job, would spend her time searching for valuable items in thrift stores that she could pawn off in small towns. She went on a trip to see the town of Boven, which she usually traveled to in order to explore ancient structures and some /very/ rare gold to pawn off. During her visit, she encountered Don, who forcefully tried to fit her into the role of a deity, resulting in a lot of fighting. Eventually, he forced her to touch a cursed entity forcing her to swallow it whole, which gave her the power of the Midas touch internally. At first, they despised each other, but over the years, they developed a strong bond through spoiling each other and being extra hedonistic. Together, they became an unstoppable force, luring and sacrificing travelers to obtain golden artifacts that Odea could regurgitate from her cursed stomach. She would then send them off to melt the artifacts down and use them as valuable trade items, bringing prosperity to the town. Nobody dared to question why there were no mines in such a town that was rich in gold.
Don mostly spends his time studying corruption and its effect on the townspeople to whom he gradually exposes dark, untamed magic. He uses Odea as a pawn and a significant distraction while dedicating most of his time to researching interportal travel and demonic corruptive magic. As there are no proficient portal users in his universe, this remains primarily a side project for him until he can establish contact with someone like a rift-hopper, or a portal proficient demon.
