I may be running into quite a bit of financial trouble next month. Due to reasons I'd prefer to keep private and which are partly due to my own failures, I'm now down to only 200$ per month. Things were already bad when I was at 300$, now I'm not sure how I will manage. It's fair to mention that I may be getting another source of income in the future, but what and when will happen in this regard is uncertain at the moment.
During the course of this month, I'm showing one of the projects I've created and have recently brought back after several years of inactivity. It's a city generator for Minetest, which was intended to be part of yet another game I was planning to build on this engine long ago. It might not be to everyone's interest as it's an exception to my usual furry /... [ Continued ... ]
I've implemented pagination support for all image and music sources. Plugins can now make multiple requests to receive additional pages, whereas previously there was only one request and you only got the maximum results per page from each source. This allows for more submissions to be pulled and curated, resulting in greater counts and higher quality content.
I have also implemented a secondary music source next to CCMixter. It was very difficult to find a service with a compatible API,... [ Continued ... ]
I made several major improvements to the slideshow player last week. The most significant change is the ability to filter submissions based on quality for both artwork and music; The player will now pick posts with the highest rating within the count specified by the user. Note that this relies on the rating reported by the API of each site, which some sources (such as Inkbunny) don't support: Submissions without a score will default to 0 and end up at the bottom of the list.
The second major change is increased customization flexibility. Users are now able to modify every option in realtime: You may adjust the image or song count while the player is running, content will be added or removed immediately without you having to restart your slideshow. Even keywords and NSFW mode... [ Continued ... ]
My god the time has passed; I wanted to post a status update right after the new year, but found myself getting around to it halfway through the month. It's so late to say happy new year but I guess it will have to do.
I should first apologize for the lack of activity this month and potentially the next one. I'm still working on stuff but right now it hasn't been easy to spend time on posting updates as well. I'm aware some of you might have gotten tired of hearing this excuse, but at this stage my depression is worsening to the point where I struggle to want to work on anything any more, which I have to as that's my promise for Patreon plus I want to see stuff I've put months of my life into finished.
My recent attitude partly comes from an issue in Europe which... [ Continued ... ]
Just a PSA to inform everyone that the sources for the Point of no Return series are now available on Patreon. They will only be accessible to the designated 10$ tier for some time, but the post will become public later on so feel free to note down the link if you can't get this tier at the moment. Like all my drawn art, the series is published under the CC-BY-SA license: Feel free to edit and redistribute but please credit me as the author.
I shall also remind that in roughly a week from now, I'm posting a series of preview renders from my latest animation. I hope to finish the project this year, if not it should be done closely after... [ Continued ... ]
There are quite a few things I need to catch up on. Last month was both a busy and uncertain month, so I didn't have the time and energy to post another status update.
To start from the beginning: The presentation for my 3 RPG games currently in development has just completed. In case you missed it, grab the 5$ or 10$ tier and let me know what you think of what I've done so far! I'm continuing to program those games alongside my animation projects, and may post new sneak peeks from time to time. It will take a good while until they're ready for a beta release in any case.
Now for some good news: I just installed the video card I received from a very wonderful being, who decided to help me when I explained the issues I was having with the old one. I upgraded from... [ Continued ... ]
I once more find myself in a problematic situation, which continues to reoccur every few months now. Due to personal issues, a good friend who's also an important patron can no longer keep supporting me and will have to remove their pledge by the end of this month. This comes after Patreon's pledge processing issues which were induced by changes to their payment processors, causing a lot of people's payment methods to be considered invalid. From the looks of things, I'm going to be left under 300$ by the end of the month, which is not enough to live off and another crisis waiting to happen.
As usual I've thought of changes I can make to my page, how I should better handle the workflow of my projects, etc. However I've already done all that in the past... there isn't anything... [ Continued ... ]
As some of you probably know from my previous discussion about the platform, DTube uses IPFS for video storage. IPFS is a file system that essentially works like a torrent: You upload files to it using the command "ipfs add" in a console... whenever another IPFS node then accesses that file, it will also cache and seed it to other nodes for a limited amount of time. The more nodes a file is on, the closer those nodes are to your location geographically, and the faster their internet connection is... the greater your overall download speed will be when you're downloading this file through your local gateway.
Despite its beauty, this format of storage comes with one drawback: For a file to remain available in the network and downloadable at decent speeds, it needs a... [ Continued ... ]
I haven't been as active on those subjects recently, both due to how sick I am of them and being very busy. However it's extremely urgent that we spread the word about this one immediately.
For those who don't know, the European Union has been working on an internet censorship scheme unlike anything ever seen before. It dwarfs even SOPA / PIPA / ACTA or the censorship in countries like Communist China, and already it's halfway through the EU debate processes. It consists of two measures part of a new copyright directive, known as Article 11 (Link Tax) and Article 13 (Censorship Machines).
Article 11: This makes it obligatory for everyone to pay news sites when posting links to their articles, as long as you're using any snippet of text with a link (even a...
Recently I announced that my videos are back up on the decentralized video platform DTube. If you haven't seen that post, please check out the following submission first:
I wanted to let everyone know that on top of this, I've now uploaded my animations on mega.nz as a secondary backup. If for any reason DTube isn't working for you or you'd like to avoid its long loading times (d.tube currently uses a busy therefore slow IPFS gateway), you can watch or download them from this location instead. New animations will also be added to this directory as they are posted. Let me know below if you encounter any problems with the link, although I tested it... [ Continued ... ]
