The
townsfolk watched in awe and not a little trepidation as the Good
Knight Geia mounted her horse. She looked queenly, astride the beast,
tall as the roofs of the village houses. The common folk around her,
simple workers of the field, all looked up to her, even the tallest
among them. Had she been standing before them in the simple clothing
of a peasant woman, they would have paid her no heed; a plain woman,
her brown hair short above her shoulders, her hands and shoulders
abnormally bruised
