fever had been holding Jobix in bed all day. Sweat dampened the
sheets beneath him and the room smelled of heat and heavy breath. Six
half-empty glasses sat on the bedside stand along with a cellphone
blinking from several missed calls. Jobix had been lost in dreams.
Truly lost, wandering through shifting landscapes and through
changing company, his mind pulsing with the sickness. But no matter

Timothy
coughed a lot. Not from a cold; just a constant shortness of breath
and tightness of throat. The cough got especially bad at night,
keeping him up unless he took a daily dose of medicine. His coworkers
commented on how much of a night owl he must be, with the heavy bags
under his eyes. Worried about his health, Timothy told his doctor
about his cough.
“Buy
a plant,” the doctor said. “See if that helps.”

disclosed building in Gotham, the Joker was mixing chemicals
together. Harley Quinn, his assistant and partner in crime, came up
and said, “Hi puddin’! Whatcha making there?”
