I'd imagine that for as often as this seems to happen, Buck's probably been pretty well desensitized to being advanced upon by a full and/or hungry Victoria. I'm so curious to learn more about the origins of these characters!

That's actually a pretty American viewpoint. I don't want to paint the roses white or anything (human servitude is a horrible practice in a lot of contexts) - but it's a job, you know?

Being a butler isn't terribly different from being an intern, and while that's obviously not a very desirable position in the long-term, plenty of people do it for the sake of advancement. Same deal. You can eventually become head of the household and enjoy a very personal relationship with your employer, if you're skilled and lucky!

TL;DR: I'm pretty sure the hundreds of people who went through a rigorous battery of tests to work at Buckingham Palace aren't complaining about having to be educated about it first. :)

I rather like this series. You've consistently portrayed a lot of detail and dynamism with some very simple monochromatic lines and shapes (a hallmark of your style), and the dialogue - to me - really pops, it's funny and it's witty and it's cute.

This particular picture doesn't even /need/ dialogue, but it's a mark of the good characterization you've granted these characters with a grand total of /one/ picture featuring them talking, that between this, and the previous image, we as viewers can probably fill in for ourselves what they're saying to one another.

Little details about Buckley's body-language, here and in the previous image, are very well-portrayed - eyes downcast or turned away, posture stoic, but the hint of a blush behind the monocle - and it all comes together really well.

I'd almost venture to suggest that for all he fights and puts up the stiff upper lip, he rather likes his job, and working for Victoria, and all that implies. :)

If there's one nitpick I've got with your SAI pictures so far, it's just that the dichroma scale (all-black, or all-white) can sometimes make details you've obviously included, either difficult to see, or blend into other aspects of the image. Maybe consider a bit of greyscale to avoid this?

My, thank you! I do enjoy characterization, and it thrills me to hear you can pull so much from them this easily with only a handful of pics. And, for Buckley, you're quite spot on there, I'm sure! The pair may very well just be playing a bit of a game here. After all, no need for things to be too easy if it's going to be entertaining.

And, as for the work with SAI, it's mostly a result of still experimenting with the program to find better ways to go about it.

He's got a personality that differs from most of what one sees in this (and ostensibly other) fetish communities. He's reserved, formal, and proper, where others are gluttonous and horny, often with only a minor other characteristic. Hell, the only time we've seen him talk, he actively discouraged vore.
tl;dr: He's DIFFERENT. He's NEW. Of course people're gonna like him.
