(7,900 words, vampirism (so, blood), female vampire / male human)
Brian is awoken by a college buddy and his cute older sister, who brought back a little something extra with her from her trip.

It would be an insult to call this a tribute to French Snack, since it's not macro/micro soft vore. Nor would it be fair to call it payback for participating in the Last Night project, since it's just me participating in my same project instead of writing in his world.
But I will say it's inspired by the way French_Snack treats his characters, and the way they feel real and pleasant and interesting. I've attempted to replicate some of that here.

Thank you! I'm glad you were able to appreciate it beside the gender of the characters!

To be fair, something about your writing just does it for me.

That's very kind of you to say!

This is fine work. Vampires freak me, but at the same time, I really enjoyed the work.
Would it be a comment if I said "This sucks?"

It would certainly be a comment. But the day my stories become vampires is the day I stop writing. Or... Maybe the last day I just really write a lot. :)

No wonder I get so many paper cuts when writing!

This was very good! Sad (Brian slipping into death in a haze, without even consciously realising it…), not least because I knew of course how it would end; but of course it was all in the *getting there*, and that was quite entrancing.
I see exactly what you mean about the inspiration of my characters, and I'm flattered. It was a nice surprise, and very enjoyable to read. Cassie being adorably shy, naturally and unselfconsciously sweet, unpretentious and basically *nice*, yet dominant in her own powerful and paradoxical way. She does very much come across as a "real" person, whom it would be interesting to meet.
It ends at just the right moment, of course. We wouldn't *want* to imagine the implications that follow after the ending. It gives us an engaging self-contained story, about the unfolding interaction of two personalities, both partly uncertain but inexorably pulled along and together by their desires. With the sense that, from this flow of theirs, there could have been no other outcome.

Hurray! I'm quite glad you feel that way. I honestly did think it was a bit of a sham to write this story in reply, and if I'd planned it out I would have planned it differently. But this was the story and the characters who wouldn't let go of my attention, so here we are.
Thanks again!
