So for the latest artjam I wrote a small text adventure. Theme was bad ends, so that is the focus. Good luck bringing down Captain Skyheart!

Just wish that there was an option for You to be the one to get swallowed by Skyheart and your lieutenant gets AV'd also loved the endings involving the Seaponies and Sharkpony

Since this was for the artjam deadline got a little tight. The Skyheart fight was supposed to have a few more ends, but I had to cut it shorter than planned.

There's so many options!

And almost all kill you!

I found the victory on my 3rd try! Woo! Gamer experience, lol. Well, 'victory.' The captain lived.

Any decision based on the actual tactics of sailing warships leads to a bad end. Punishing the reader for understanding the subject material is very poor writing.

Every path leads to a bad end. The theme was bad ends. Even the path that sees Skyheart nommed isn't a good end for you.
Posted by Alias49 7 years ago Report
Nope, not buying it. Following actual naval tactics ends the story with comments along the lines of "next time try thinking first." Getting to the "best end" requires equal amounts of good and bad decisions, and none of the good decisions have to do with how to actually handle a sailing vessel. This is about what I'd expect from someone who has a working knowledge of 18th century ground warfare but only has a few movies to work with for naval material.

I'll be sure that next time I want to write fap material starring cartoon horses getting eaten to get out my encyclopedia and properly research the subject matter. That was sarcasm, heh. Look, I get it must have been frustrating to keep 'losing' for doing the right thing, but the aim of this game is to lose. To collect all the endings. I'm pretty much working off playing Assassin's Creed for how I think naval combat works to be honest, but this was meant to be and is just window dressing so the captain can be nommed a bunch of ways. It's not serious and treating it as such is a little ridiculous. Just enjoy the vore or don't.

I am a bit of a historian and love naval combat, and therefore... if the focus of the game was to have some realism to it for the combat, I would agree with Alias49 that getting punished for valid decisions is bad.
However, the point of this game is vore, and so I thank you for the fun endings and good content produced within such a short deadline.
Would it be possible in future to have a bit more description to what is happening? - as some scenes had basic descriptive text that I enjoyed, but I would like a bit more~ :P

Amusing. They're claiming that naval tactics leads to the 'try thinking first' end.
(It doesn't. It leads to the Eaten by Pirate butt/feeding the pirate and getting betrayed endings)

why can't we just enjoy the ride without the logic?

i cant get the ending thats "second best" i got the best ending but all the others are bad endings. is there an ending where the captain eats skyheart?
Posted by Cainiam 7 years ago Report
Second best is where you become Skyheart's pet. It's still a bad ending, heh. And there is no end where you win. Theme for the artjam was bad ends after all.

Greetings! Allow me to explain how much I enjoy this.
I'm a bit of a hardcore prey kind of pony, and as such, seeing the myriad ways in which your character can be consumed in this is just - mmf - a delight.
Something I can't help but notice is, though image or text, original or commissioned - you make being eaten just sound so Lunadamned sexy. More than that - something beautiful. From the anticipation of waiting maws to the almost motherly embrace of a hungry butt.
It just feels so right to offer yourself to these mares - the ultimate form of submission, even if unwilling. And even though it ends in the death of the body, it doesn't... Feel like that, at least to me. Oddly enough, it feels like a victory. To become part of something greater. (if that sounds messed up - that's prey logic for ya)
That ineffable quality about it made me enjoy many aspects of vore that I didn't before, especially fart, scat and watersports in the context of disposal. and if I had any criticism to offer, was that the text adventure didn't feature those. What I came to like about these particular parts of it, is a continuation of what I said before, of how good you make it feel to be prey.
I'm gonna go off on a tangent for a bit.
To be consumed is a journey, one in which two ponies join more intimately than is possible anywhere else. The first fart is an indication that the prey has passed the point of no return, left its sense of self behind and has begun to be absorbed into the predator. In that way, it is an announcement of sorts, one that said predator could display with pride. To do so whilst sitting on top of an as-yet unconsumed prey can be a statement that says more than a hundred words. Though there's no such thing in this text adventure, your use of musk is wonderful. Anal musk should be a thing, an overpowering, seductive thing, not at all directly connected with digestion itself. Big props.
The disposal itself marks the end of the journey, in which the predator discards their new passenger's unused parts. Often these parts still resemble the prey in some way, such as a skull or bits of fur, further emphasizing how their selfhood as a person is over, and their new, glorious existence as pudge is truly begun. The disposal itself is often pleasurable - as your avatar here shows. A parting gift from the prey, to make their new owner feel good one last time.
-end tangent-
So yes! I never really worked up the courage to express how much I like your work before, but this text adventure really pushed me over the edge. My criticisms are the lack of disposal, and how a couple paths have repetitive options. (though I understand you had a strict timeline to publish this)
Otherwise, please - do keep up the good work. Remember, there are a lot of people like me who are perhaps too shy to comment, but for whom your art is truly amazing.

I kept meaning to respond to this, sorry about the delay. I'm glad you've enjoyed this little adventure and some of the others I have written. As you say this one doesn't feature a lot of my staples, but I assure you that was mostly down to time constraints. I should perhaps have written less, more detailed ends than tried to cram in as many as I could.
Thanks for expressing yourself and how much you like my stuff.

Aww, Cane's really good at making lurkers come out, heh?
I, too, would never participate in comments let alone draw vore if not for Cane's stories haha.

Hey cainiam, how's it going? Listen this game you got on textadventures right now isn't working anymore, something about not private anymore and telling me to go back so I can't play your game and I can't download it. Is everything alright with it?
Posted by Cainiam 1 year ago Report
Looks like it's been removed. Well, that sucks. Really should have backed this up at some point. Damn it.
