Gozen wanted to try out a new sport that some of his other pokemon friends were experimenting with that their trainers taught them. They seem to call it 'soccer'. It was pretty fun since Gozen was trained in his feet for fighting so he could usually shots from the other side of the pitch and still give the goal tender a run for their money.

That said, like all sports it can get exhausting. One needs protein after all. Thankfully Gozen had his own 'cheerleader' that could help him.
