I think he's jumping to conclusions a bit, since they were originally roleplaying, and nobody said what happens if he loses. His date didn't seem like the type to bring him to her friend expecting him to get eaten, after all. I'm sure that he will end up being right, but it seems like things might get out of hand after he stops playing along.
I'm enjoying this story and art quite a lot, it's just something that came to mind while I was reading.
