Mulan's been replaced!

 GoTee1 Wrote for this piece. It's not a behind the scenes interview and more of a Jessica invading the movie and taking the spotlight.

The sight waiting outside the matchmaker’s parlor took a moment to sink in. This morning she was to evaluate and sort three potential brides. It did seem only one had decided to show up, yet you still had at least three brides worth of woman just there.

“F-Fa… Mulan?”

“Oh dear,” the red haired bride-to-be hid a smirk behind her fan, embarrassed for them. “It’s actually pronounced ‘Jessica.’”

She made her way inside with such an impossible bobbing motion from hip to heel that the matchmaker didn’t even catch her for speaking out of turn.

You certainly could not accuse this one of being too skinny. She didn’t even cross over into too fat, her hanfu robe neatly covering a belly that already seemed brimming with sons enough for the whole village, and that was no exaggeration. Not only was it massive, it seemed to… bob, now and then without her say so. It took time to circle round this ‘Jessica’ and accept the width of her hips and the girth of her chest were easily the largest to come through that door, if not pass the matchmaker’s eyes entirely.

She did make plenty of noise when not asked, though not a word of it from her mouth. Deducting points for an upset stomach was new. It was anyone’s guess what such a well-fed thing possibly had to be upset about.

When it came to pouring tea that bust made for a handy shelf. Her belly covered the table quite completely, and heaven forbid she consider turning sideways. She bent forward and the cup managed to slid through the indent of cleavage, onto her belly, and into the matchmaker’s hands. Though she filled so much space, though she bulged in every direction, and bulged so far indeed, she carried it all with such deliberate grace. This was no less a woman than a mountain.

The matchmaker didn’t intimidate easy, but… well, she’d never quite had a case like this.

“Here,” the matchmaker brought their session to its close slapping a set of papers onto their stomach.

“Hm?”

“Your score is far from perfect; you speak with far too much breath and your hair is the gaudiest shade – but I can see wars being fought over that figure of yours. This does not leave this room but… just this once it may be easier for you to select a husband.”

“Mm.”

Lords and landowners, Generals and general merchants, it seemed she had her pick of the finest of China. One slip caught her eye.

“Goodness, no! How did he get in there? That man is a lost cause, dear. Nothing but a career Chou In a travesty of an acting troupe! I wouldn’t send my lowliest client to one of his performances let alone his – ”

Another rumble, this one more a roar, cut her short. “A good wife wouldn’t have anyone talking about her future husband that way, missy!”
