So there's an amiibo adapter that came out to let old 3ds systems use amiibo. And it does work. But before I buy an actual amiibo (I got animal crossing cards already), I want to double check that it works.

Smash amiibos are read/write. Data gets sent to them. In happy home designer, data only comes from the amiibos, it doesn't go to it. On the nintendo website, HHD is specifically stated to work with the amiibo adapter. Smash for the 3ds does not have that note. So I'm wondering if the amiibo adapter can't send data, and thus won't work with smash.

Anyone have an old 3ds, amiibo adapter, smash, and a smash compatible amiibo that can tell me if it works?

Part 1:
Grandpa doesn't pay attention when he's driving. He often has to slam on the brakes or swerve at the last second when he finally decides to look at what's in front of him. Thought 40 minutes was enough time for him to go 2 miles. Over an hour later, I'm 25 minutes late for something that only lasts 60 minutes. Call at 7:20, he gets there at 7:55, finally get home at 8:25. Then decides to take the scenic route and experiment instead of going the normal way that has only 1 turn. Slams on the brakes in the middle of the intersection and asks "Is this the way to route 7?" which is basically a left turn when the destination is straight. So we take route 7 while he says "I hope we aren't in the oncoming lane" and end up winding through urban roads instead of...
