Well I mean when you click on a comic panel 9 times out of 10 there's the whole comic in order between the art and the description. (like with this comic for example) Viewing comics on this site is literally so easy and hassle free, unless like the artist is one of those madlads who don't organize their gallery, but again those people are pretty rare in my experience.
Its a non-issue that isn't really a reason to basically mistag art/writing.

Since this comic is almost entirely F/F, I went through and removed the male pred tags from everything except the ~2 specific panels that have it.

In general though, I don't really agree with you. From what I can see on the forums, ect, opinions on this seem to be mixed. When I'm personally browsing tags I prefer to see the content for an entire comic/sequence rather than just seeing random panels.

As for seeing unwanted content, I can see arguments for both approaches. If a comic is tagged for all content, then you will see unrelated panels in various tags, but in tag browsing you have a lot of ability to filter and refine your browsing. Hiding F/F, Female Pred, or Unbirth on this comic would have hidden the entire comic, which seems fine to me if your goal is to avoid certain content or tags.

If panels only have panel-specific content tags, then you wouldn't see those unwanted tags in a basic tag browsing search, which seems good. However, if someone likes that panel they are probably going to click on it and be taken to the artist's gallery, and from there probably page through the rest of the comic. In that scenario they could see unwanted content directly in the gallery view. They'd have no warning about what to expect since the panel that brought them there only had panel-specific tags, and AFAIK you can't do any kind of tag filtering or hiding when directly browsing someone's gallery.

For now, I think I'm going to keep tagging comics by full content, except maybe cases like this one where it HEAVILY favors one specific type. I'm willing to reconsider if there's ever a rule clarification specific to comics, or if there's something like a community vote/formal consensus, but short of that I think this way is better.

Its not a rule rule, but its kinda just social courtesy. People who are into male pred kinda don't wanna see something in the male pred that's say fempred unbirth; same for people who like fempred who don't wanna see male pred and cock vore.

Is that the protocol? I've read through the tagging guidelines, but they weren't really clear on what to do with comics that have different content on different pages. Is there somewhere else this is spelled out more clearly?

I've always tagged my comics by the content of the full comic, figuring if someone was browsing a specific tag it would make more sense for them to see the entire sequence vs just seeing a few random pages from somewhere in the middle - or alternatively, if they come across one panel, they could see via the tags what kind of content the rest of the comic will have.

If that's a faux pas I'm certainly willing to go through my gallery and get things fixed up, but if I'm going to do that I'd like to be sure I'm fixing things right.

Heads up, but if the submission itself doesn't have a male pred in it, then don't tag it as male pred please! Same for any other tags that don't apply to the comic/sequence panel itself!
